If, somehow, you can convince me anything but N95’s are useless in a clinical setting; but somehow, become useful when worn haphazardly by the public, then we might get somewhere.
You are at the dentist mouth wide open, your hygienist sneezes. Would you rather he be wearing a mask or not?

    LOL

I wonder how much Adderall Trump had to snort to put on a mask? Notice how much his eyes are dilated.

I’d rather they didn’t sneeze right into my open mouth lol.

The studies [plural] concluded what they concluded and it was done back when nobody cared one way or another if masks worked. Presently, people *want to think* they work, they’re being told they work and whether they work or not—has become politicized.

But practically everyone has to wear them now so we’ll start looking for the drop in COVID numbers.

I’ll happily be wrong about it if/when that happens. Wish I could say I was optimistic about it.

How many months did it take for Trump* to follow Biden’s lead?

    First you ridicule it.
    Then you ignore it.
    Finally you join it.

That is essentially the formula conservatism follows since its evolution from its origins as a mere human trait (atavistic resistance to change)
into a labelled political movement. You could bottle it : "lather rinse repeat"

The one necessary step they seem to conveniently always omit is acknowledgment of error.
They'd rather swallow than spit out "We were wrong"

Remember when he made fun of Biden for wearing one 6 weeks ago.?
Once, it’s like all those times they thought he was Presidential because he read a speech. I doubt he wears one on a regular basis.

    Hello BartenderElite,

    Well said here:

It's shameful. This is a basic precaution during a pandemic where the contagion is spread through respiratory droplets. We will never be able to calculate how many lives have been lost because so many on the right made it something that it is not - but it is surely more than a few 9/11's. It's embarrassing, and horrible.

It is one of Trump's most profound failures as a leader.
    What a good post.

    Very succinct.

    Thanks.

If everyone were to begin following all the CDC guidelines we can certainly expect to see a drop in the numbers of New Cases.

The problem is that everyone is not doing that, and it will be hard to change their thinking after so many weeks of bad leadership telling them they don't have to.

Nations which have complied with the best practices have the best results.

Taiwan has about the same population as Florida.

Taiwan has very high adherence to all the best guidelines. Taiwan has 7 total deaths, period.

Florida is full of people who have ignored the guidelines. Florida has 4,197 deaths total.
