Default Pelosi fighting the GOOD fight, pardon legislation

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...?ocid=msedgdhp

in the face of corruption by Trump, Pelosi plans to stop the pardon power in cases of self interest of the Potus.

This EVIL self dealing on the Trump right must stop.

I think the courts need to limit that pardon power. Dig deep, find a way. It's too damn hard to amend the constitution.

The potus should have no role in the administration of criminal justice whatsoever. Certainly not the power to undo all the work done
on cases by waving his pardon wand. Too arbitrary.

Just ignore it then. Petition some Federal Circuit judge to ignore the pardon (9th Circuit will absolutely do it) and then when the administration tries to fight it SCOTUS will deny cert and let it stand.

Your partisan love of abuse of power is already of record here, douchenozzle. I think if you drill down there will be justification to limit
the pardon power, by searching precedent on self dealing. And in a way the scotus can get behind. This is so corrupt, it can't stand.

The president's clemency power allows him to commute any federal sentence as well as to grant pardons. Because Trump is not fully pardoning Stone, he can proceed with an appeal of his conviction that could allow him to clear his name, at least in the eyes of the law.

What is the self-interest of the POTUS in this case?

Article 72 says that the president shall have the power to grant pardons, reprieves, respites or remissions of punishment or to suspend, remit or commute the sentence of any person convicted of any offense. ... The pardoned criminal will be like a normal citizen.

So, you can’t post what the self interest of the POTUS is in this case.

You could have just said so, cabron.

I was under the impression that POTUS cannot pardon a co conspirator. I believe that's why the sentence was commuted instead?
