But as we all know, NY holds that grand title. And everyone else has a lot of catching up to do to even equal it.

    Cuomo? NY?

You mean the state that is doing amazing right now after doing things the right way?

    Au contraire.

Look at how NY responded since the beginning, and their trajectory. That's how you gauge success.

Everyone should be emulating NY right now.

I would think you would base success on how many people died from the incompetence of that particular state. NY holds that record. And lets not forget the current increases of COVID in NY. You see Bartender, when you try to make this political and all about red or blue states, you really should have the upper hand before doing so. That being said, you really are not a bad liberal to discuss things with.

Well, I appreciate the last part. I try to be thoughtful.

But an intellectually honest discussion of this wouldn't just take an isolated stat. Is it any surprise the most populous city and most traveled area in the world started out w/ the highest death tallies?

You have to judge it by what has happened since. NY is re-opening - but they've been following CDC guidelines, and hammering home the basics, like distancing & masks. It's amazing that a state as populous as NY has one of the lowest rates of spread today. They did it right.

I see the whataboutism crowd is here. FLORIDA HAD IT'S HIGHEST SINGLE DAY DEATH TOLL EVER. This has happened because DeSantis has miserably failed the state of Florida and its citizens. It is going to get worse. Because science and stuff. You were flat out wrong the entire time. When the cases started to rise, you said 'well, hospitalizations are stable'. Then when the hospitalizations started to rise you said 'the death toll is down'. Well, guess what. Strike three, morons. Now the deaths are rising in multiple states. There is nowhere else to move the goalposts, so you try to change the subject. I will say it again. The rest of us WILL NOT FORGET that your arrogance, ignorance and selfishness killed people. Go ahead, toss your adhoms, parrot your idiot in chief. Too late. You are beneath contempt, every one of you.

They also don't make common sense measures like wearing a mask some sort of weird political battle about "liberty".

Time will tell. I do not completely dislike NY. The billion oyster project and NY Harbor School are just a couple of things I believe in and help fund for example. There are little pockets of hope......lol!

Not even close. Cuomo made a mistake. The rest has been pretty much spot on, including the vitally important leadership role. That's why his constituents give him such high marks, and give Trump and DeSantis such low marks. You have been wrong about virtually everything. Does it ever get old?

This is absolutely correct. The schools especially. No distancing, no masks, no restrictions at all. Just back to it.

    Try again.
Common sense like here. Indoor spaces, public transport, shops, museums, etc.

    Europe’s post-lockdown rules compared

Tourists can now go on a summer break, but social distancing rules differ from country to country.

Here's a guide to what to expect when you arrive in the EU27 and the U.K. and the lockdown path that led there — ordered by the duration of each country's lockdown:
