Jack; That's true. They are an 'Ethno-State' and they are 'Authoritarian'. Things like 'Free Expression' and 'Individual Liberty' are frowned upon (see Hong Kong for example).
Mott: "China though has to be careful in playing that game with the US cause in a quid pro quo situation they will lose as their weaknesses are far greater and far more obvious than ours. Like having nearly 500 million people still living in abject poverty."
Jack: I disagree. China is on the Ascendancy of Power. China has a 'Central Planning' culture in Government and is using it to full advantage. They are using 'Mercantilism', a form of Commerce that supports 'Nationalism' and the 'State'. It's a perfect example of their 'China First' policy. Their Central Planning DOESN'T include people that mutter "But, but ... that's Communism" or "But, but ... that's Capitalism". They are focused on a 'China First' policy that is nimble enough to do whatever is in the best interests of China.
At this point in time, I doubt the US could ever build a 'Panama Canal' or a 'Hoover Dam'. People like to say "America First", but they don't understand what that may entail. Do people here even understand the term 'National Champions', a term used in countries around the world.
--->"National champions
National champions are corporations which are technically private businesses but due to governmental policy are ceded a dominant position in a national economy. In this system, these large organizations are expected not only to seek profit but also to "advance the interests of the nation"; the government sets policies which favor these organizations.Wikipedia"<---
