Offending someone is not an argument. It isn't even a topic to discuss intelligently. I asked what argument was being made that needed to be rebutted. You seem to think that offending someone is a valid argument. It isn't. Since there is no argument being rebutted, there is no ad hominem.

Well, to be honest, we didn't get any worse (except for the "But we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it debacle), but we didn't get any better. I'd say we were pretty much stuck in neutral as a country as a whole. But no one can say we didn't pick up rather quickly when Trump was elected.

But that isn't what his post was about. You are simply reframing his argument so you can argue against it. That is a strawman fallacy on your part. Until you can show the specific argument he was supposedly rebutting your claim of his rebuttal being an ad hominen can not be true.
