You are right.
My son, who is white, lives in Baton Rouge LA with his wife, who is black, and their two kids. A few years ago when we were visiting, I walked through the restaurant we went to holding my g-daughter. A middle-aged white couple almost burned holes in both of us with their eyes. It was horrifying to see. I turned her so that she wouldn't see them, then I looked them full in their red, angry faces and gave them my most beautiful smile. They looked shocked.
