But it's not your choice.
It's the insurance company's choice.
You're paying the insurance company for access to the doctors they contract with.
And how do you know you're making a choice with all the options in front of you?
What you're doing is making a choice after two choices have already been made for you: the first choice made was by an insurance company for which doctors they work with, and the second choice made before your choice was the choice your boss makes over what insurance plans you can choose from.
So you don't have true choice at all. Two choices have already been made for you before you can even make your own. You get that, right?

Your employer isn't offering you health care, they're offering you access to an insurance plan.
No, you don't pay for your healthcare. You pay premiums into a pool from which providers are reimbursed for your care. You are in a pool with millions of other people, so your premiums are going to pay their health care too.

But how do you know it's what you wanted without seeing the full market?
How can you make an informed decision when your choices have already been limited twice?
It's not what you wanted, it's what your insurance company and boss wanted.
You had to choose from what they were offering...so you don't have true freedom of choice.
You have the freedom to choose from choices already made two levels above you.
