This thread is awesome; I love it when Trump triggers the loons on the left. I can't wait until that night the PHONY media announces that Biden has been trounced and Trump is re-elected.

It's not always about funding. Baltimore ( where i come from) has a ton of money pumped in by the state.
Yet students at like 13 grade schools -not one of them in the 5th grade can do grade level math.

It's a culture of failure, despite mentoring etc. it's very sad to see kids futures flushed

Agreed it's not always funding, but since all public schools only see about 8% Federal funding and the remainder in State and, mostly, county/city funds, the primary problem is funding. Management would be an excellent #2 problem.

Education is primarily a local purview.
When you have all that money pumped into public schools ( and not all schools -but too many minority city schools)
and the results are nada mo' money isn't going to help.

There has to be accountability, but teachers unions wont have it

What makes the culture of success, then? I bet money is the biggest factor. Here's a list of 100 top-performing high schools from around the country, they're doing something right.

Thanks for agreeing on funding problems and management, but disagreed on moving goalposts.

that's unwieldly for me to analyze at. But i see magnet and charter schools listed. It aint the money.

It's a culture of learning..what was that movie? kids have to want to learn, and you do that with innovative
and mentrship ( especially for kids in single parent families).

I was taught chess at 5 years old. It stayed with me a lifetime

I often sit with the students...you're not familiar with how Special ed works, are you? My teacher's desk was big, as a matter of fact...I still have it...my kids helped build it in shop/industrial arts class one year....I brought it home...along with the bookshelves they made....when I retired They need to bring shop and home ec classes back...

Donald Trump, who's worth an estimated $2.1 billion, is the first billionaire in history to serve as president of the United States.

The president's fortune has taken a roughly $1 billion hit due to the coronavirus pandemic's impact on industries like hospitality and commercial real estate.

That money he lost will come back in a year or two along with everyone else's 401ks and investments. I doubled down on my 401k and riding it out.
I think his debt is astronomical. I believe it’s one of the things he’s hiding.
