I don't know much in detail about Trump, but I know he wasn't placed in an institution for most of his adult life. Words have meaning, and to be institutionalized means to have been placed in a mental health facility or health care facility like a retirement home under supervision of medical professionals.

That, is not Trump from 18 to his present age for more than 50% of the time. It's not that I like Trump. I think he's pretty nasty on a personal level. But, I also want to be fair in my critics of him. Institutionalized for most of his adult life is clearly wrong. We'd hear endlessly about his being in an institution of one sort or another for decades on end if it were.
