Biggest Dutch pension fund dumps Israeli banks


Israel’s biggest banks are heavily involved in financing Israel’s construction of colonies in the occupied West Bank, a war crime.

Dutch pension fund ABP announced last month that it has stopped investing in two Israeli banks involved in Israel’s violent colonization of the occupied West Bank.

ABP is the biggest pension fund in the Netherlands, and one of the world’s largest, with about $500 billion in assets.

It says it wants its investments to “contribute to a sustainable world.”

WTF? "(A) war crime?" How did these idiots arrive at that conclusion? Israel building in the West Bank could be called a lot of things, but a war crime? I don't think so.

Well- you'd be wrong. The transfer of populations either into or out of occupied territories contravenes the Geneva Conventions- and is therefore a war crime. Any contravention of the GCs is a war crime. That's what the GCs are for, to rail in brutes .
The UN requires all signatories to respect the Geneva Conventions. Izrael is a signatory. Izrael has more UN resolutions against it than all other countries combined. Izrael has achieved this notoriety with blanket US support. How does that make you feel, as an American ?
