This monument is on private land and was commissioned by the Lakota. The Democrats have no say what happens with Crazy Horse.

The difference is the Indians were defending their land. So it was no point at all.

So? Doesn't change that both Crazy Horse and Geronimo were in essence warlords and that Geronimo was a criminal (horse theft, armed robbery, destruction of public and private property, rape, among others).

It’s on private property, are you really this obtuse or just think you are really making a point?

I don't care where the monuments are. I'm commenting on the persons and giving reasons their statutes might be held in contempt.

You could probably say the same thing about the Confederates. (?)

"The War of Northern Aggression is one of the alternate names for the military conflict that took place in the United States between 1861-1865. The generally accepted term for this conflict is the Civil War, and this is the term that is most commonly found in textbooks and other references. Some people continue to refer to this conflict as the War of Northern Aggression, however, and the disputes over naming the Civil War reveal lingering resentments and a variety of cultural attitudes."

"The conflict began when several Southern states seceded from the United States, known as the Union, and formed the Confederate States, known as the Confederacy. The secession was provoked by the election of President Abraham Lincoln, a known opponent of slavery, although a number of other factors were involved as well. Rather than allowing the Southern states to separate peacefully, the Union fought to force the Confederacy to rejoin the Union, and was eventually successful."

You continue to not understand, what people have on their private properties is their business, what people put up on public property is a different story.

You are welcome to have an altar to Charles Mason, Hitler and Pol Pot, You just can’t put them up in my yard or on public property or I will object.

You left out that the Southern states that were seceding also forcibly seized and held US property and knowingly attacked, held hostage, or otherwise took violent action against US troops and civilian employees.

So, "The War of Northern Aggression" is nothing but a canard and completely wrong. The Southern states started the war wholly and entirely.

No, you miss my point. I'm talking about content not location. Sure, you can put the "altar(s)" to those you mention on your private property but that doesn't change that they were evil, murderous, vile, scum of humanity.

Nobody educated accepts the southern attempt to justify the civil war. It was about slavery.
The Confederate VP Alexander Stephens explained it.
The US constitution is based on the assumption of the equality of the races. But our new government is founded on exactly the opposite idea. Its foundation is laid, its cornerstone rests upon the great truth., that the negro is not equal to the white man, that slavery is his natural and moral condition.
That should make it pretty clear.

Content has no bearing when it on private property, the Native Americans can honor their leaders on their land. They probably feel like our leaders were evil, vile, scum of humanity.

Must be the “big chiwawa” didn’t get a lot of attention with Lenin so now he’s moved on to Native Americans. We got a lot of statues to native Americans, and if I am not mistaken, the crazy horse monument is on private land
