I looked up the history of redskin. It said that in the 1850s, during Indian conflicts, there was a bounty paid for bringing in an Indian scalp. When you killed an Indian, you chopped his scalp off and turned it in for 200 bucks. Since they were bloody, they were red. That is not a good reference for them.
