Default Supreme Court has a unanimous vote

Supreme Court Rules State 'Faithless Elector' Laws Constitutional

    July 6, 202010:18 AM ET

    Updated at 11:59 a.m.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday upheld state laws that remove or fine Electoral College delegates who refuse to cast their votes for the presidential candidate they were pledged to support. The vote was unanimous.

"The Constitution's text and the nation's history both support allowing a state to enforce an elector's pledge to support his party's nominee — and the state voters' choice — for President," Justice Elena Kagan wrote for the court. Laws that remove or penalize delegates reflect "a longstanding tradition in which electors are not free agents; they are to vote for the candidate whom the State's voters have chosen."

Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

And what if that candidate is found with a dead girl or live boy ?
There are valid reasons to change up.

Well, it looks like 12 states are about to have their laws on electoral college votes overturned. These states, Colorado leading the way, give their electoral college votes to the candidate with the most national popular votes, even if that vote is contrary to the majority in their state. That circumvents the will of that state's voters / people in favor of a national vote.

    https://hillreporter.com/12-states-h...0and%20Vermont.

What the ruling in effect says is that electors are bound to the state's popular vote, not the national popular vote. If the later were the case, then the actual popular vote of a state has no meaning or relevance and makes the electoral college irrelevant. That's something the Democrats want even as it disenfranchises roughly 43 of the states.

Exactly, and not for the candidate that the nation as a whole has more popular votes for.

I find the whole idea of a Supreme Court telling people how they should vote is stupid really.

Delegates are just people. WHY THE FUCK DO WE NEED A DELEGATE TO VOTE FOR US ANYWAY?

Do you think for a minute that the wives of Republicans that are told by their husbands to vote for Republicans, don't vote for who they want to when they enter the Voting Booth all alone? BLAHAHAHAHAHA!

Probably happens more times than not. Some women in this country actually vote for their own best interests- regardless to whether their husbands vote for their best interests or not!

The way we vote in this country is stupid anyway. Countries around the world we have preached democracy to for centuries are laughing at us for the undemocratic way we vote. ONLY IN AMERICA FOLKS!

I sure would like to know when we are going to Make America Great and practice what we preach!

Stop telling people that "Every Vote Counts" when the truth is Millions of votes do not even count at all - in every presidential election.

We are obviously liars and not a model democracy for other countries to follow!

We are not a Democracy! We are a Representative republic. Popular vote ensures those who give away the most win, IE Democrats! Cry me a river, the founders knew freeloaders would vote for freeloading!

I don't think too many would argue with that. Some of our RW friends though, probably believe that's what all (D)s want.

Eventually all states will make the electoral college irrelevant.

Stop trying to make excuses. Representative Republic my ass.

The United States does not promote Representative Republics in the world. The United States promotes and is an advocate for Democracy.

Again- Why do we preach something we don't even do?

Representative Republic is Word Salad- Psychobabble! Doesn't mean shit!
