This illegal illegitimate regime that runs America is at fault...not me.... they do not represent me and I have long objected to their crimes against humanity.

It's a statue; a representation of a historical event or person. Views of the Civil War change over time....even granting "the victors write the history books". The views in the late 19th century were different from the 20th century and 21st century views even more different.

IMO, it's wrong to destroy or erase history, but it's important to point out the lessons of history, to build upon it. That's not what is happening with the removal of statues movement. It's all destruction and erasure.

A statue is not itself history. I mean, history is real and represents our knowledge of the past.

If you really believe every Washington monument is completely meaningless and that you are seeking to destroy them all for parking lots and condos, that's your choice to make but I disagree.

You are free to turn all of these statues into gravel and door knobs, but I think they represent a tangible reminder of history, something our kids and young people like yourself should be learning from, not destroying:

Statues honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. are a common feature in cities across the country, and increasingly, around the world. Last year in King's hometown, family members gathered at the Georgia Capitol to unveil a new statue that was a long time coming.

Here are some of the most notable MLK statues and some of the stories behind them....

MLK reminds me a bit of legendary blues musician, B.B. King. B.B. fathered 15 different children with 15 different mothers, and there's speculation that he fathered 3 more children. B.B.'s BB's sure worked the trick! A sure shot every time.

A statue is a work of art to commemorate and honor a historical figure. A statue of George Washington honors the president of the US. Why not have statues of Charles Manson if their purpose is a reminder of history?

I think they do. The question is: Which are worthy and which aren't.

Worthy of honor? By what standard? Certainly not what by President Trump believes is valuable.
