Default Is COVID still a problem in the United States?

If one listened to Trump, it would be hard to tell, he seldom if ever mentions it, and when he does, “it’s contained,” “will fade away,” etc., so there certainly seems to be a disconnect between the message Trump is projecting to Americans and what seems to be happening in reality

are they really? I knew they were down but not that much. We are testing many more.
I think our positive test rate in Florida is 8%, but the morbidity rate is extremely low -ICU beds too

Well, what’s happening, in reality lol, is we have lots of case numbers but deaths are flat.

Maybe it will change ‘in two weeks’ maybe it won’t. With every week that goes by and it doesn’t, people are going to start thinking about other things. And omg, many of them are ready to think about else besides COVID.

Trump is tuned into that. Trump has his warts but his political instincts are unsurpassed. What Democrats need to be wary of is that he may turn out to be right.

I think it’s pretty apparent this manifestation is different than in March and April. One plausible explanation is the virus is weakening: people aren’t getting as sick with it as they were earlier in the year. That’s obvious because so many of them never go to the hospital. Get it and recover, seems to be the norm. That may have to do with younger people getting it.

But that has nothing to do with the protests lol.

Oh, no! The Dems miscalculating again?

Trump is consistently about 10% down in every poll now. If the election was held today, Biden would win, and Dems would win the Senate while expanding their majority in the House.

How does that represent unsurpassed political instincts on Trump's part?

Problem? Yes. Massive crisis you should panic over? No.

Your comment that 40% of covet 19 survivors have lung fibrosis is correct

They're not smart enough to figure out what happens when the ICUs are full or nearing capacity like they are now

Well I know you think Trump is largely responsible for everything that happened in 2020 lol.

If the election were held last November Trump would have crushed Biden just on the economy. Hillary seems to think she would have made a big difference. Think Hillary would have stood up to Fauci and said ‘nah, we’re not gonna do that stuff, it will ruin the economy and put tens of millions out of work’.

Of course not. If Hillary would have beat Trump in 2016 Hillary would be ten points down in June of 2020. Hillary would have done whatever the experts said the minute she went pale after hearing about the prospect of millions of dead Americans.

Of course, none of that happened. Our experts suck, btw.

At any rate, the election isn’t this month or even next month. COVID deaths are flat, there is legitimate hope of a V recovery; Biden has yet to survive his first debate: Durham is still out there.

A lot can happen and almost certainly will. It’s 2020.

Hillary would have handled COVID much better - she wouldn't have denied it or downplayed it like Trump did. She would have acted faster. We'd be more like other countries around the world.

But that's beside the point. You didn't answer my question. If Trump was displaying unsurpassed political instincts, we'd see that in the results & popularity TODAY. We're not - he's losing, badly.

Your perception is much different from that of most of America. Of course Trump followers think he's sticking the landing. They always do. Everyone else sees that he's failing.
