I think it is very plausible that that was going through her mind

She was not justified in pulling her weapon. Period.

She was in her car and could have left. She stopped. Got out and drew a deadly weapon and pointed at someone who represented no threat. There is no reasonable person who will think her life was in danger to warrant drawing her weapon.
