This weekend we celebrate the creation of the United States, though that project remains substantially incomplete. This year of crises has underscored the distance between the lofty rhetoric of our founding documents and the persistent inequalities of American life. This nation began as a set of promises that it has yet to keep.
Americans also need better health care. The United States spends a larger share of its annual income on health care than other developed nations, yet Americans suffer the worst health outcomes of any wealthy nation. That’s not a good deal.
Other countries use a variety of systems to achieve better results, but those systems have two things in common: Everyone is covered, and the government seeks to hold down the cost of care.

What inequalities hack? NO ONE in this country is prevented from becoming prosperous or successful. The only thing holding losers like you back are yourselves and your own laziness.
How do we not have the best health care in the world leftist hack? You don't get better care by nationalizing it and placing it in the hands of faceless bureaucrats. This is the rhetoric of the uneducated and stupid.
That is because we are a sue happy nation and do not manage our healthcare by LIMITING access and making it hard to get care. Socialized systems manage their costs by creating shortages, long wait times and not having sufficient R & D to create breakthroughs in care.
NYT's???? Hahahahahahaha. No snowflake, other countries have shitty systems that are far more costly when you consider their taxation rates, the lack of services and the long wait times for even the most basic care.
Stop reading the bullshit from the NYT's; they are making you look stupid.

Government for the People
America’s economic crisis is rooted in a political crisis: A government that has privileged the interests of the wealthy over the welfare of the majority.
The need for change is clear, and many of these proposals enjoy broad support. For example, the Pew Research Center reports that two-thirds of Americans favor a $15 minimum wage.
Yet the federal minimum wage remains at $7.25 an hour.

Our disastrous healthcare system has been ignored because huge corporations make incredible profits off it. Countries with universal care are recovering much more quickly. Brazil has a leader most like ours, and they are exploding up the Corona charts.
America is dead, has been since 2001. Just took a couple decades to realize it.
