They are immune to both irony and their own contradictions lol.

Not so fast. They are trying to change the name of Rhode Island because it has the word plantation in it.

A petition to rename the city to Flavorytown in honor of native son, Guy Fieri is being circulated.

Yes, they will change it. Probably Kingsville or something along those lines.

There is no idea too ludicrous or stupid that it will not be attempted in earnest. And it's not unusual, dead and defeated nations often have their cities changed, their culture gutted. This is just the first time it's happened to us.

Default Senators want to replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth Day as federal holiday

    Works for me?!!

Two U.S. senators have filed an amendment to legislation that would replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth Day as a federal holiday.

“In response to a bipartisan effort to give federal workers another day of paid leave by designating Juneteenth a federal holiday, we have offered a counterproposal that does not put us further in debt,” said Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) in a press release. “We support celebrating emancipation with a federal holiday, but believe we should eliminate a current holiday in exchange. We chose Columbus Day as a holiday that is lightly celebrated, and least disruptive to Americans’ schedules.”

The real move is to change Columbus Day to Indigenous People's Day. Except, of course, for (R) senators. lol

Kudos to that mayor for doing the right thing.

Why would we celebrate the existence of a people mired in the stone age who otherwise had all the faults charged against Whites such as slavery, wars, racism, and social injustice? Just curious...

Ever read the Bible? Ever see all the millions of paintings, sculptures, books, etc. dedicated to the god(s) of a people mired in the stone age, who practiced genocide, human sacrifice, war, racism, discrimination, and racial injustice?

Natives were here first. Celebrating the fake discovery of this hemisphere is stupid. If you want to celebrate discovery, you're in the wrong century... by thousands of years.

Biblical events occurred roughly 1500+ years earlier. So, all you are doing is making a false equivalence. Besides, events in the Bible did not take place in stone age cultures but roughly from the Bronze Age to the early Middle Ages. They also involved cultures that had evolved a written language, something not seen in the Americas except in what is now Central Mexico.

Snowflake City seems more appropriate! Mott was not long ago telling all and sundry how tough and no nonsense people in Ohio are, so much for that theory.

To call them NATIVE Americans or indigenous is kind of stupid in the 1st place. Science says they migrated across the polar regions from Asia therefor NOT native would be more fitting. Also,....when they got here were they alone? Kennewick man says different as he pre dates them...

Wrong. The events depicted in the Bible date back to at least 3000 B.C. Jesus Himself has been dated back to ~2,000 years ago. Where do you think that the Earth-is-6000-years-old crowd got their notions?

The first known human beings have existed in this hemisphere for at least 15K to 23K years. That long ago, we were all in the "Stone Age." So?

When you want to excuse your bigotry with history, it's a good idea to actually KNOW your history.
