Last night on his show, popular FOX NEWS pundit, Sean Hannity, told of how a motorcycle courier recently delivered a letter to him marked "URGENT" in his office on the 7th floor of FOX NEWS HEADQUARTERS on Avenue of the Americas in New York City. He said that when he opened the letter he found a communique that had been punched out on an old-style typewriter. It was signed at the bottom by a Mr Umbugger "Sixpence" Watermeloni "On behalf of the National "Black Lives Matter" movement. Hannity told his viewers that the communique was a rambling radical socialist tirade against a draft Executive Order that President Trump was planning to issue. This Executive Order was "still a work in progress" Hannity said, though when completed an issued would mandate a classical architectural style for all new Federal building that were to be built. Hannity told viewers that the author of the communique had concluded with a threat that the National "Black Lives Matter" movement would "raze the White House to the ground unless its demand for President Trump to publicly announce that he would be scrapping the Executive Order entitled, 'Making Federal Buildings Beautiful" that was currently being finalised. Hannity said that he received as great deal of abusive and threatening "junk mail" from radical socialist Democrats and other members of the looney left every week and that he would ordinarily have thrown this piece of nonsense directly in the trash can had it not been for the fact that it contained a an explicit threat to carry out an act of terrorism that might jeopardize the President's life, which it his view made it a criminal matter. Hannity also said that the disgraceful recent eruption of violent rioting, arson and looting by members of the BLM movement across A also decided him to forward the Watermeloni communique to the police

It turns out that the communique Hannity was given by the motorcycle courier had already been posted on the BLM website for at least a week. When I checked yesterday, the it was still accessible on the BLM official website. BTW, I'm not one of those soft-cocked, White, Liberal's who support BLM or thinks George Floyd was a martyr. I'm a Conservative but I like to keep an eye on what BLM are doing after the recent chaos they managed to create across the country. They only managed to "succeed" in unleashing the mayhem they did because they are closely affiliated with a number of other American hard-left organisations, and that's another reason I like to keep an eye on what they are posting on their website. Getting back to the communique, after I read it yesterday on-line, I printed off a copy as I found the content very curious and somewhat unsettling. Today, however, when I checked the BLM website again it appeared that Watermeloni's incendiary letter been taken down (?)
For anyone interested here are the main themes that were emphasized by Mr Umbugger Sixpence Watermeloni in the BLM communique he had delivered to Sean Hannity...
In the communique, Watermeloni threatens, - as I have already mentioned - to "raze the White House to the ground" if President Trump ratifies an Executive Order (still in its draft form) that would nullify the existing,1962 "Guiding Principles for Federal Architecture" Bill that was issued by John F. Kennedy's White House and still applies to the construction and architectural style of Federal buildings. President Trump's proposed Executive Order nullify the 1962 guidelines by prohibiting the use of "modernist" architectural styles and mandating the use of neo-classical styles for all new Federal buildings that are to be constructed. The draft views Neo-classical architecture that "which is chiefly inspired by the infrastructure of the Imperial Roman Republic. Trump goes on to state that architectural designs in the "modernist" ( he singles out the "Brutalist" and "Deconstructionist") styles are: "Just plain ugly"...and..."shall not be used." The draft Order also provides for the demolition of unsightly modernist buildings that currently exist where necessary.
News of President Trump's draft Executive Order which is, BTW, entitled "Making Federal Buildings Beautiful Again" has already triggered an outcry within the architectural professions, who are generally well-known to have "progressive" philosophical sympathies. The prestigious "American Institute of Architecture" (AIA), for instance, posted a Consensus statement on - line (counter- signed by over 200 of America's foremost Architects and academics) in early February of this year after the AIA received a copy of the draft Executive Order from an anonymous source- which was signed by 200 of America's leading architects. The consensus statement condemned President Trump's as an "aesthetic reactionary" with "no knowledge of architectonics" and a profound, personal deficit in "good taste" that was "in the American public's face every evening on their television news". The AIM have also created an on-line petition to oppose the planned Executive Order.
Mr Watermeloni declared in his statement that: "for centuries White,(European) Western: autocrsts; absolutists; tyrants despots and dictators, including the likes of: Adolph Hitler and Albert Speer; Benito Mussolini and Napoleon Bonaparte, have been obsessed with using forms of neo-classical architecture to glorify their racist Totalitarian regimes, and Trump is clearly no exception !"
Well, Hitler, it's true, was obsessed with architecture from his youth. When the NAZI's gained power in 1933, he and the German architect Albert Speer - whom he appointed "First Architect of the Reich" in 1934 - developed a close personal and professional friendship over the ensuing years. Hitler believed that Speer was an architectural genius and placed him in charge of rebuilding Berlin into a new world capital that would be called "Germania", "Germania" was intended to embody Hitler vison of the German Third Reich's tremendous future power and glory, the great, Third German Empire that would last for 1000 years. Speer drew up blueprints for the infrastructure of "Germania" using a specialised, Neo-classical architectural style. This style became known as "stripped" neo-classicism as, it purposely "stripped" away any unnecessary decorative embellishments in the rococo or romanesque styles that were often features on neo-classical buildings. He did this in order to create an imposing architectural aesthetic of raw power, austere grandeur, disciplined order, clinical rationalism and sheer monumentalism. Mussolini, the notorious Italian fascist, also used the characteristic styles of neo-classical architecture to broadcast his political values of "towering authority, perfect order,, clinical "mathematical" order, massive latent power and solid stability. As for Napoleon Bonaparte he was, it's true was yet another Western autocrat - a military dictator - who ordered the construction of a number of impressive neo-classical buildings, his "Temple to the Glory of Napoleon's is probably the most striking and imposing example of a number of works he commissioned.

So, I suppose Mr Watermeloni has a point. But he has much more to say and goes on to excoriate President Trump as a "White Supremacist"...
President Trump, said Mr Watermeloni, was not just brutal, authoritarian overlord, and dictator he was also a White Supremacist and White Nationalist. "Trump believes that White European Western culture and the White (European) race who created it, are objectively superior, and that all other races and their culture are inherently inferior. Indeed, he calls the Black African nations Third World "Shit-Holes: and regards Black lives as lives that are worthless - lives that "don't matter! He is now hell-bent on using the violent, imperialist neo-Classical architectonic of Imperial Rome as aesthetic propaganda to amplify his hateful White Supremacist worldview. To glorify a dead Western cultural tradition that for a 1000 years has been the most hateful, barbarous, bloodthirsty, oppressive, racist and callous world order that humanity has ever seen ! But, mark my words, we will never surrender to Trump and his men of hate !"
Mr Watermeloni then launches yet another intemperate attack on the President denouncing him as a deluded reactionary...
"Trump's desire to "Make Federal Buildings Beautiful Again" speaks to the very same sinister reactionary fixation with the neo-classical aesthetic that is common among American White Supremacists, White Nationalists and the members of other political organisations on the hard -right. These people worship neo-classical architecture because it harkens back to a time when White European nations were powerful on the world stage, more racially homogenous, let us not forget that they derived a sizable portion of their power from the oppression, subjugation and enslavement of racial minorities and women. Ironically, Trump's call to return to the classical architectural beauty of Athens, Imperial Rome and the modern neo-classical revival of the 18th and 19th centuries masks his urgent desire to regress to an uglier place in the West's recent past when diversity and inclusivity were vices and the subjugation and bondage of the Black man and of the members of other racial and ethnic minority groups of colour and women was deemed a virtue."
It seems to me that in his determination to revive the aesthetics of white Western neo-classicalism, President Trump has forgotten that this same aesthetic had a potent, political dimension that found expression in the form of Western military "Imperialism" - that resulted in the slaughter, torture, exploitation and enslavement of countless millions of human beings around the world Perhaps the President has short memory. Has he forgotten…

The document then resumes likening Trump's thinking to Hitler's...
"The far right in the United States operate by inciting fear about forces that are threatening to topple white Supremacy in the America: an Islamic invasion of Muslims; a conspiracy theory known as "The Great Replacement", the shrinking white birth rate in America that has accompanied the emancipation of women and so on. Trump is seeking a balm for these anxieties in his intention to revive neo-classical architecture in the United States and exploit its power to invoke White greatness and moral superiority at a time when native White Americans are losing their self-confidence and being forced to question their traditional core values. There is a disturbing parallel here with Hitler's own views on this issue. In his memoires, Hitler's Chief Architect and personal friend recalls that Hitler liked to philosophize, and he remembers that on one occasion, while Hitler was examining the architectural models he had made for the Fuhrer's envisioned future capital of the Third Reich,"Germania", he remarked that...

With all of the above in mind, The National BLM movement hereby advises President Trump that his proposed scheme to build all future Federal buildings in the neo-classical style is an unacceptable form of White (European) Western cultural imperialism; one that is implicitly fascist and racist. The proposals in your draft Executive Order in your draft Executive Order are grossly offensive to all African-Americans and to all other racial/ethnic groups of colour who live in a diverse, multicultural modern-day America. Should your draft Executive OrderMaking Federal Buildings Beautiful Again ever be issued, the BLM movement will respond by razing "The White House" to the ground as a symbol of our determination to defy your plan to use of the neo/classical aesthetic as a weapon of White Supremacist racial warfare and an instrument to bolster White (European Western Cultural hegemony against "We the people" of the United States.
