The great white was the second extraordinary big-game catch off Montauk in less than a month -- the other was a 1,174-pound blue marlin. The shark also capped the career of Frank Mundus, the man who inspired the character of the shark fisherman Quint in the movie Jaws -- he harpooned a 4,500-pound shark in 1964.

He had this old wooden boat and spend most of his free time maintaining it.
When ever he got a chance he would run offshore and shark fish.
