Default Esper on his way out.

The Pentagon has told National Guardsmen deployed to the nation’s capital not to use firearms or ammunition, and has issued orders to send home active-duty troops that the Trump administration amassed outside the city in recent days, a sign of de-escalation in the federal response to protests in the city.

Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper made the decision to disarm the guard without consulting the White House, after President Trump ordered a militarized show of force on the streets of Washington to quell demonstrations that were punctured by an episode of looting Sunday, two senior administration officials said. Trump had encouraged the National Guard to be armed.

    Disarm completely?
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

Good to know there are at least a few Republicans with the nerve to resist Trump's fascist disposition.

That's what the article said, no weapons or ammo. A governor can mobilize the Guard in his state but DC isn't a state?

    Good for him.

Turns out Trump was wrong. The riots were starting to dissipate naturally. Any aggressive action would have likely had the reverse effect.

Trump isn't a student of history, and doesn't know what he's doing.

Trump will only replace him with a lackey, and the rubber stamp GOP senate will approve it.

There never seems to be a shortage of ass-kissers, does there? I wonder what ever happened with the captain of the COVID aircraft carrier -- did they ever reinstate him? Last I heard, Esper was thinking about it.

The president is the Commander-in-Chief , not the Sec. of Defense.

I thought we went over this, Trumper.

It doesn't matter. If the rabid animals pose a danger to the public again, Trump has the sole power to dispatch the military under the insurrection Act of 1807.

Not doing so is a dereliction of duty.

Has there been a danger to the public? Just how many of those rabid animals you speak of are right wing fascists implanted to stir trouble?

Absolutely they are dangerous. In addition, they were trying to breach the space to the White House. Mainly the 2 terror groups, Antifa and Black Lies Matter. I saw militant blacks and the nosed over privileged white brats which make up Antifa.

Reality is hard to grasp for these snowflakes. Especially after the trauma they endured yesterday with the great jobs report and stock market rally.
