In Los Angeles, city officials proposed cutting up to $150 million from the police department’s $3 billion budget this week, as part of a broader wave of spending cuts. Mayor Eric Garcetti, a Democrat, said the goal was to free up money “so we can invest in jobs, in health, in education and in healing.”

Biden had pledged a slate of criminal justice reforms before Floyd’s death, including stepping up Department of Justice investigations of police abuse as well as bringing more mental health and substance abuse specialists in to work with law enforcement.

What would it look like ?

Erm... something along the lines of Zimabwe or The Republic of South Africa I guess ? Or maybe even the Democratic Republic of Congo, only it wouldn't be a case of the Bantu and other Negro tribes hunting, catching, executing, cooking and eating the native pygmies or enslaving them (this is all happening in Congo as we speak, BTW) No, it would be armed militias of African - Americans out on the streets hunting and eating Yankee Honkies (they would find the tender, white, "McDonald's - fed" meat simply irresistible YUM !! YUM !!)

I've always provided my own security. I have been doing so for decades. It is reassuring however to be able to call 911 and have them respond. The rioting here in Tampa exposed a serious problem. If the criminal element cause enough trouble to occupy all the police available, they can burglarize a business and leave before risk of being caught. I cant imagine if police were reduced or eliminated.
