Trump could have done all these things when the Republicans were in control of congress. He purposely waited for the Democrats to regain some control, so that he could make it look like he's fighting for these things. The wall was a lie from the beginning.
If I'm wrong, and Trump actually does want these things, then that means he's completely ineffective in making deals to restrict immigration. It means his stupidity and thin skin are keeping him from building the wall.
