Are there any modern Jews which are descendants of the Caananites? I thought American Jews and those occupying Israel now are of European descent. Therefore, it seems Palestinians have more of a claim to bring the descendants of Abram, than do modern day Jews.

The European Zionists were certainly of European origin- despite their ' biblical ' claims- and so were the thousands of post-war soldiers who poured into Palestine to claim it in the name of ' Zion '. These soldiers were battle-hardened, well-trained European military personnel who were, illegally, provided with ship-loads of armaments by the European Zionist organisers- so it was never much of a contest. They even killed the British who made a half-hearted effort to keep them out. The actual numbers of indigenous Palestinians , Jews and Arabs, were documented by the British who held the Mandate for Palestine up until 1947 and the creation of the United Nations. The indigenous Jews were a small minority and they still exist, of course. They have a genuine territorial claim- which Arabs have never disputed- but there were long periods when there were no Jews recorded in Palestine at all.
