Harris Faulkner: Biden's "You Ain't Black" Gaffe Is "More Than Offensive... It Is A Blind Spot"

FNC's Harris Faulkner weighs in on former VP Joe Biden telling "The Breakfast Club" host Charlamagne Tha God that he "ain't black" if he considers supporting Donald Trump.

HARRIS FAULKNER, FOX NEWS: I've been fighting against this notion that you are not black enough unless you think a certain way, you vote a certain way, you speak a certain way, you do certain things.

My whole life, I grew up military. Pretty much neutral along the zone of, can't we all just get along no matter what we look like? I have bi-racial daughters. Melissa, you know them.

This is more than just a little offensive. It is shortsighted, it is a blind spot for this former vice president. He should have gotten up immediately on whatever venue, the microphone he had. I would have said it for him immediately right there, in the one he was already in, on "The Breakfast Club." and say, "You know what? Let me restate that."

I think this says it better. It's Black Voices For Trump and their statement. I'm going to be the first couple of sentences:

"White liberal elitists have continuously dictated which black Americans are allowed to come to the table and have a voice. It is clear now more than ever, following these racist and dehumanizing remarks, that Joe Biden believes black men and women are incapable of being independent or freethinking. He truly believes that a 77-year-old white man should dictate how black people should behave. Biden has a history of racial condescension, and today he once again proved that a growing number of black Americans, and I've always known Joe Biden does not deserve our votes."

That is Trump 2020 senior advisor Katrina Pierson. You don't have to be in a particular race to know when someone puts you down because you're different.”

Hopefully this wakes more black people up, as they realize the democrats don't give a shit about them. They see them as useful idiots and free votes. Have created a democrat plantation based on welfare and govt assistance that many rely on and can't escape.

I think a number of black people do question the Democratic Party and whether they have their best interests at heart or care about them. The problem, from a Republican Party perspective, is they know (in their mind) Republicans don't give a sh*t about them. And no disrespect man but look at your comment the other day calling George Lopez a 'w*tb*ck'. Do you think minorities see that and think the Republican Party is home for me? (just using that as an example)

And not that this board is a proxy for the country but look at the number of people that use the N*word on here and repeatedly call black people thugs etc. Do we think that makes them want to become Republicans? The comparison I'll continue to make is when Democrats call rural people deplorables, trash etc. Does anyone think that makes rural people really want to vote along with the folks who call them that?

And TBH, even white people telling black people to get off the 'Democratic Plantation' is considered offensive by many. If a black person says it then that's their own thing but white people saying it is really no bueno.

I'm not telling anyone what to do but if the goal is to diversify the Republican Party and get more votes from minority groups our present strategy is not very good.

My wetback comment was made as a joke to get people to comment on the thread.

I don't represent the GOP, and neither does anyone on here using the N word. I think part of the problem is since we only have 2 parties, people assume that racists are part of the GOP when in fact they are not. Most WS groups hate the GOP with passion. They get the two conflated.

My argument is the GOP actually wants black people to thrive by getting them off the dependency of govt. Teaching a man to fish rather than just giving him free fish may seem "mean". But you are actually giving someone the tools to survive.

Exactly....this matters....and this comes after the Democrats were already worried that young blacks, especially young black men, will not vote or even worse will vote for Evil Man.

I think there's a hell of an argument to be made that conservative (GOP) policies are beneficial to black and minority communities (and thus the country). Whether right or wrong, there are a number of black folks and minorities in general that associate the GOP with racism. (Of course Democrats want to push that narrative to hide their own bigotry and faults but that's a different discussion).

So that's the perpetual challenge we face on the right in winning over these voters. How do we change that narrative?

Democrats cant face the fact that calling certain racial groups victims and treating them as victims which is treating them as damaged people who are less than other people and who need extra supervision might not work forever in their vote harvesting program.

This does not compute for them, brains start to fry if they think about it.

Blacks and whites should want the same things.

Starting with jobs and the economy. Most of the [major] problems in the black community are social and not governmental. IOW, Biden can promise them the sky but he can’t give it to them.

For example, government has no answer for out of wedlock births in the black community. The government can only incarcerate more young black people for drug violations—or legalize them altogether, neither of which would solve the problem.

The DNC leaders know this [at least intuitively] so they tell blacks they’re victims of white oppression to cover for the fact they nor the government can fix what is wrong in the black community. And yes, too many blacks like to hear exactly that—makes it easier to ignore the root problems.

Fortunately, some good and excellent young black voices are popping up on the conservative side. Candace Owens is one. My guess is they represent a political awakening in the black community.

They’ve been voting Democrats three and four generations now—and what do they have to show for it?
Coup has started. First of many steps. Impeachment will follow ultimately~WB attorney Mark Zaid, January 2017

If the discussion is minority voters its been working pretty well so far. Republicans are winning less, not more, of a growing minority vote.

Now at the end of the day in terms of raw politics all votes count the same. Someone being a minority does not give them two votes. So it's simply a matter of winning more votes than the other side (or the EC at the Presidential level).

But the discussion is minority voters and the numbers we get as Republicans speak for themselves.

Ummmmm, have you seen the numbers Republicans have gotten from black and other minority voters over the years? What long track record of being wrong on that topic is there?

Rightys just make shit up. Biden has an over 40 year career in politics and has voted for and worked for minority rights. Every time, he worked against the republican party. The reds have worked on voter suppression since 1980 trying to stop the blacks from voting. Rightys are remaking history with lies. The problem is the black people know who they are. That is why deaffy is siting at 3 percent of black vote.

Everything is in flux.....what happened in the past says little to nothing about what will happen in the future.

The expert class has been often wrong, and often catastrophically wrong, all across the board during recent decades.
