Default If Trump loses the election, will he claim fraud?

The closest we've come to a loser not conceding in recent memory is Gore. But that was w/ the results being put on hold due to requests for recounts that were generally allowable under various election laws. After the SCOTUS decision, Gore knew what was best for the country & abided by tradition.

I'm just thinking it through - Trump is already laying he groundwork for declaring the results invalid if he doesn't like them. We've already seen him trash convention whenever it suits him (something his followers usually love).

I could see him declaring the election results illegimate based on an unsubstantiated claim of "massive fraud." I mean, he already has done that w/ the popular vote situation in 2016. I don't think he'll go quietly into the night if he loses.

    And what happens then?

So, she never conceded the 2016 election. You're sure about that?

It's like an Alford plea in law. Look it up.

Basically, in law you can always plead guilty using the Alford law (or in some states the Kennedy plea) that allows you to plead guilty without admitting to the crime.

In this case she concedes, is not president, but still runs around screaming that because California has so many people the rest of the nation should just go with who they vote for and pretends that it isn't 51 separate elections, and that she didn't win enough of them.

Like an Alford plea, she's able to say she's innocent while pleading guilty...

A fair assessment. It's unseemly, but doesn't cause any crisis or conflict.

I'm talking about a situation which I could see as a very real possibility, given what we know about Trump, his near-contempt for tradition, and his consuming self-interest.

Nah, he'll walk away. Probably doing the same crap though... It will be fake news, etc.

this isn't about a technicality of law.
Hillary has come up with 100 reason why Trump is "illegitimate" . She has said the election result was such because of da Russians or whatever.

She has cast doubts on the entire electoral process that isn't a concession

Unseemly, not illegal. I get what you are saying, it is gross, it is not good for the nation, but it isn't illegal.

The only way Fingers Biden can win is if the Democrats commit fraud...and they will try.
