Except the statement you are replying to is a false. They are not combining infection numbers, they are combining testing numbers. This entire thread is based on a completely false premise that is actually contradicted by the OP.

The CDC is putting spot test results in with serum antibody test results. How can they NOT know to not do that? It will lead to an artificial increase in case counts—and worthless data.

IOW, you’re arguing that they are mixing results without mixing results. Or something.

Here’s a hint: subtract the positive antibody tests from the total number of positive tests—and you get a lower number.
