Not so much yet. Especially since it's also being reported that FL is spiking today.

I like optimism, but Trump has me worn out from wishful-thinking politics. There are realities w/ this virus that too many continue to ignore. I'm 100% in on reopening, but we ALL have to realize that it's a trade off, and not a simple decision. Reopening faster means more die. That has to happen, but let's not pretend that's simple.

So, shut down the country from October > March every year in the future and have people die THAT way if you prefer.
There will still be people dying due to flu anyway, but you'll get the thousands more as a bonus from cancelled medical
procedures, depression, stress, drugs, abuse in the home they're locked up in, etc.
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

Don't presume to know what I support. I realize that it's a balance. I have always felt that shutting down had its time limits, and I understand fully the ill effects of letting the economy slide like this. I support reopening now.

I think sometimes both sides get caught up in thinking it's a no brainer - like, of course we have to shut down, or of course we CAN'T shut down. It's just not that simple. It's always been a balance of trying to preserve life & slow the spread, and not letting the economy go down so far that it might not make it back.

And I'm not sure how you can say Trump was "right." He's been all over the place on this, as usual. Supporting shutdowns one day, and then tweeting "Liberate Michigan!" the next day. He certainly keeps the country on its toes.

No it didn't. It was completely unrelated to the fact that Florida will have the largest number of new cases ever today. Some of those people will die. Most won't. So?? Did you have a point?

The balance is this. We were told to shut down the country for 2 weeks. Did that.
Distance yourself from others. Did that.
    Wear a mask. Did that.
Don't go to church. Did that.
Don't go to the beach. Did that.
Don't go to restaurants. Did that.
Don't shake hands anymore. Did that.
Don't go to work. Did that.
Add more people to the unemployment rolls. Did that.
Put a thriving economy on life support. Did that.
Flatten the curve so hospitals won't be overwhelmed. Did that!

Two months later, as more people get tested, the more cases are going to appear. (Logic)
So let them appear, get it over with instead of dragging out the inevitable which is that
some more people may die with/from Covid......yet more will recover.
    Get on with life.
