Americans use their $1,200 stimulus checks to splurge at Walmart and Target — here’s what they’re buying

While many Americans have used their stimulus checks to cover basic needs such as groceries, mortgage or rent, there’s evidence people are also spending the money on non-essentials including electronics, clothes and toys, according to major retailers.

I hope these dumb-asses paid the rent/mortgage, and the price of food is really increasing too?!!

In all fairness though a lot of ppl were not laid off. It's a good thing when ppl have discretionary income that they can spend on non-necessities -- that's what keeps the economy rolling.

    Here's a constructive idea:

"Chip in to help Amy build the grassroots team that can defeat Mitch McConnell.
For over 30 years, Mitch McConnell’s #1 priority in Washington has been protecting his party and special interests—and both will spend big to keep him in power.
The only way to beat Mitch McConnell is by building a truly grassroots team, one donation at a time. Can you chip in now to give Amy a leg up in this race?"

Stimulus does not work in a pandemic, if the Washington crowd are too dim to know that then so be it, but they were probably lying yet again.

What this was is very poorly targeted welfare.
This illegal illegitimate regime that runs America is at fault...not me.... they do not represent me and I have long objected to their crimes against humanity.

Those checks were meant to be spent to put liquidity in the market you dumb fuck, those who are laid off or on furlow are entitled to standard unemployment +$600 a week to pay for rent, utilities, and necessities. God you're fucking dumb.

Probably right, in fact putting all this added liquidity into the market while preventing people from opening businesses where that money would be sent can actually lead to hyperinflation.

    a) It is none of your business what people spend their money on
    b) Thanks to democrat draconian lock down orders people were buying things so they would have something to do during that time

Pretty much and they used 2016 tax returns to determine who got payment as 2019 returns weren't all completed yet

But, they are from the gobblement and they are here to help
