Wow, certainly couldn't have predicted that one. He has a huge following so his imprimatur could garner a lot of votes for Trump.

Greenie car manufacturer Elon Musk, who has 34 million Twitter followers, has effectively told them all to go vote for President Trump, using a popular vernacular expression:

Fox News calls that a "cryptic" tweet, but I suspect that's some leftist headline-writer's doing, because the story itself indicates that the writer knows perfectly well what is going on:

"Take the red pill" is a line from the popular 1999 movie "The Matrix" about seeking the unvarnished truth: "You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes."

More recently, it's been slang for people abandoning the ways of liberalism for the values of conservatism. People of all ages and ethnicities posted online videos describing "red pill moments" — personal awakenings that have caused them to reject leftist narratives imbibed since childhood from friends, teachers, and the news and entertainment media.

Leftists of all stripes bellowed their displeasure about this tweet, none more loudly than the movie industry people who created the original story. After all, it's their movie script line has become a rallying cry to "join the conservatives" even though that wasn't their intention — and the analogy described by Fox is particularly interesting, given that Democratic standard-bearer Joe Biden wants everything to go back to the pre-Trump era (except more leftish), which is perfectly analogous with the blue pill, while Musk himself is famous for enjoying deep dives into the unknown, same as the red pill. The Tesla founder definitely thought that tweet through before he posted it.

And as the left yelled, Musk posted yet another one for them, doubling down on his original tweet, effectively saying he's through with playing both sides of the political fence as a lot of businessmen, including himself, have done, red pill or bust. Get a load:

This is an appropriate response, given that mighty "f--- you!" he got from state Assembly member Lorena Gonzalez, expressing her glee at Musk's threat to pull up stakes from blue California and take his Tesla operations to Texas. While state and county officials rushed in to assuage him like a bunch of court flatterers after he defied their shutdown orders and ramped up his manufacturing operations in Fremont, California, Musk obviously hasn't been assuaged.


His red pill endorsement was positively toxic for Democrats' election prospects, which is why so much rage and appeasement has been going on around him.

As for Musk, he's sick of Democratic actions as they happen on the ground, doing everything they can to put him out of business, and then screaming 'f--- you' when he threatens to walk away.

The hoggish Gonzalez might just have been the creature who handed it to him. Now he's driving off, taking not just car manufacturing to red-state Texas, but millions of people to red President Trump, too.

Don't get me wrong I think it's a good thing. I don't consider Democrats my enemy. I think our country needs them as much as we need Republicans and centrist and third-party people.

Democrats aren't always wrong Republicans aren't always right. I have a lot of common ground with Democrats and more liberal people.

I'm glad Democrats are becoming red pilled do you use the ridiculous metaphor. A certain contingent of feminists say believe all women. I take issue with that. I don't think we should dismiss all women but we shouldn't believe them just because they are women. We should investigate credible claims. And the accused are innocent until proven guilty. And that goes for Joe Biden the same way it did for Brett kavanaugh.

I'm glad that people are standing up saying let's assess this logically.


As far as Elon musk goes he's in a war with his state. He employs a lot of people. The state saying you can't work directly affects him. It affects the people he employs. And the people advocating the shutdown continuing are almost all Democrats.

I don't think musk is a Republican that being said I don't think he is necessarily a Democrat either. I think he's saying vote for Trump not because he supports Republican viewpoints but because he's in opposition to the Democrats at this moment.

He makes electric cars for Christ's sakes I mean I think electric cars are cool and the fact that people are willing to try and make them more feasible as transportation is awesome. Who's that common ground I talked about with liberals and Democrats.

I think it's more of a protest. Just like when Alec Baldwin said he would leave the country if George Bush was elected.

I don't think it's wrong for people like Alec Baldwin and Elon musk and the Dixie Chicks and all of these people to have political opinions or even to voice them no matter how wacky they are. They are Americans and they have that right. If they're not Americans they're resident's and they still have that right.

After this coronavirus thing has run its course I don't think Elon musk is going to be a Republican. At least not if people on the Democrat side of things are forgiving. I think that's why the right side of things is growing right now, in much of my life it was shrinking because they were a circular firing squad. you are not conservative you believe in this and I think it's wrong so therefore you can't be part of us that alienates people. On the right side of things I think the major part of that was the religious right. It seems that that's happening in the Democrat side at the moment and the bone of contention is socialism.


That's just my observation this is more of a political outsider then someone who belongs to one party or the other.

The CEO of alphabet the company that owns Google and other things. Sandar Pachei. I think he was a Bernie supporter, I'm not sure if he's supporting Biden but I wouldn't be surprised.

We can look at Bill Gates, he supports Joe Biden.

Jeff bezos wanted to promote Bloomberg. I'm not sure if he's supports Joe Biden but I don't think he supports Donald Trump.

These aren't just the three richest people in the country at the time these are the most wealthy people that ever existed and they are exclusively Democrat.

Then you have quite a few Hollywood actors that support Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.

I think the party of the rich is the Democrat Party.

I don't know but I never saw that movie. But do you understand that I'm not really out to be your enemy. I doubt you vote for people to spite me. I imagine if forced to vote you would probably vote for Joe Biden not because he's your first choice but because you think he's the better choice.
