    Today's biggest developments:

    US death toll surpasses 88,000
    Texas reports single highest daily rate increase of infections


    The latest number of of coronavirus cases in Texas jumped by 1,801 in a single day, the highest daily rate since the state started tracking data. The number of cases reported now stands at 46,999, according to the latest figures released by Johns Hopkins University.

Then there are those like myself who check in your threads just out of morbid curiosity,...kinda like...." HEY! Look at the FREAK!!! " You really ought to be in a sideshow someplace sitting next to the bearded lady and the three legged man. You could just sit there looking like the freak you are,..then if you REALLY want to entertain simply start talking,....say ANYTHING,....believe you me people will laugh theyre asses off. You might even be able to make a few bucks out of the deal along the way!

    Not surprising since Texas recently increased testing. With more testing comes more diagnosed cases. The important number to follow is the death rate which is down.

    From the article:
    The state of Texas has also reported [a total of] 1,305 fatalities -- an increase of 33 but down from the two day high of 58 and 56 the previous two days.
    So a DECREASE of 25 and 23 over the previous two days.

    I live in Texas BTW.

    Deaths are a trailing indicator. You should also keep an eye on hospitalizations which may trail diagnosed cases but will lead deaths.

    OK then show us the hospitalization rate . Personally I don't really care about the number of people that get hospitalized as much as I care about the number of people that die. But you admit with increased testing comes increased diagnoses.

    Been there many times. Huge life long Cowboys fan,...have been to quite a few games at the old Texas stadium and the new ATT. Really like your state a lot. LOTS to see...Even got drunk as a skunk one time in Luckenbach! Hey....EVERYBODY is somebody in Luckenbach!

    You're the one in Texas. I was simply giving you another info point to track that may be helpful to achieve an overall picture of what is happening. If you don't want to track down the hospitalization rate in Texas, don't.
