Default What's It Like? Survivor Accounts Of Having COVID-19

    "Bridget Wilkins, 29

Bridget flew to Australia via Singapore for a friend’s wedding last week.

She is now quarantined in a hospital in Brisbane after testing positive for Covid-19.

She had suffered a headache, a sore throat and fatigue – all of which were symptoms she mistook for jetlag.

Bridget, from London, said: “I think we have to calm down, because for most people, like myself, it is just a long cold that we can shake off.”"

    ...

"Teacher Marc, from Rhode Island, in the US, led a school field trip to Italy, France and Spain last month and was admitted to hospital on February 27, five days after he returned home.

A week later he was diagnosed with coronavirus.

He said the illness had hit him “like a hurricane”.

Marc, a school vice principal, said: “You feel like you’re asphyxiating, and you’re panicking because you can’t breathe.

He added that he felt “one inch from death” and remains in intensive care."

    ...

"David and Sally Abel were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary when they contracted Covid-19 on the Diamond Princess cruise ship, quarantined in Japan.

David, from Woodford Halse in Northamptonshire, said: “Outside the hospital I came over a bit weird and nearly passed out. Every pore on my body opened and I was wheelchaired to our room.”

They were both later diagnosed with pneumonia as well as coronavirus.

Sally has since been given the all clear. But David tested negative twice and positive once, so he cannot leave yet."

    ...

"Connor Reed, originally from Llandudno, North Wales, had been teaching English in Wuhan, China when he began to experience “just a sniffle” on November 25.

Seven days later he began to feel much worse. In a diary, Connor, 25, wrote: “This is no longer just a cold. I ache all over, my head is thumping, my throat is constricted.

Two days later his breathing had become “laboured”, and said that going to the loo “leaves me panting”.

By December 6, he felt like he was “suffocating”.

He got a taxi to Zhongnan University Hospital as he knew there would be British doctors. He was tested and given antibiotics.

By Day 21 he ached “as if I’ve been run over by a steamroller”. He wrote: “My eardrums feel ready to pop.”

But, by Day 24 – just before Christmas – he was better."

What's it like? Roll the dice to see how it might hit you...

What does the market have to do with this? Can you try and make sense?

I heard a first-hand account of one experience.

    This does not sound good:

Comes in waves. Different symptoms. You think you're getting better, then something else. Temperature goes up and down. Finger pain, foot pain, achy, no energy, lack of appetite, diarrhea, headaches, congestion, difficulty breathing, can't catch breath. And it never completely went away. Never felt like completely through with it. Body feels different now. Like it's in the bones. Had it in January and still feels bronchial pain when breathing hard.

We all understand..you're terrified. Stay inside until you're not....until they get a vaccine...or people stop dying. This is your choice.....

My nephew’s wife is still very ill, but, thankfully, not to the point of hospitalization, he’s an Army Ranger and told his mother he feels like he’s wearing lead boots. They were diagnosed in March.

The market was affected by the virus from China.

PoliTalker cheered the economic losses in America and around the world caused by the virus from China and he will be reminded about it every time he posts about the virus.

Best wishes on their full recovery.

Obviously this is something not to be taken lightly. A totally novel disease that humans have never seen before.

The one I talked to said it went through the whole house. The couple is aged about 50.

This thread is about whether you know people who had it and what it was like. Can you follow that? It was not about the market. Can you understand that much? Hydroxy sales have skyrocketed. That does not meet this thread. Can you understand now? Any of it at all?"

Very sorry to hear about them.. Hopefully they are improving.

I had my first friend come down w/ it... She retired & moved to Phoenix to be w/ her Dad who is in his early 80's & unfortunately she was volunteering @ a care facility & brought it home to him......

She is doing ok but he went on a ventilator two days ago & was very uncomfortable & they put him on some meds to chill-out & rest..

The plan is to take him off those anxiety drugs the next day or two~my optimism is fading & she feels very horrible as she is positive she gave it to him..
"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."

Oh no. How dreadful. That would be awful.

It was & sadly also deadly...

Someone here posted here that only 22% make it after needing a ventilator.. I didn't believe that, but I looked it up, & he was correct............. I didn't pass that along to her as I/she wanted to hope for the best........

Other than condolences I have not had much contact w/ her as she is grieving & putting his affairs in order..

Lots of ppl here talk about it like its a fuckin joke.......... Hopefully they don't have to find out the hard way that it aint.......
