Default Coronavirus pandemic 'will cause famine of biblical proportions'

    https://www.theguardian.com/global-d...al-proportions

We now have the potential of the first deaths caused by the shutdown. People act like shutting everything down has no consequences. Is it now time to ask how many people the shut down saved vs how many people the shutdown killed since aid can no longer get to these people?

What I dont get about the left is they claim to care about these type of people the most but make it so the US and Europe is beggared and can no longer afford to give aid, who else did you think would help?

Of course just to save one life we have to keep shutting down till next year like the left says so sucks to be these people.

"According to a report produced by the UN and other organisations on Thursday, at least 265 million people are being pushed to the brink of starvation by the Covid-19 crisis, double the number under threat before the pandemic.

None of those looming deaths from starvation are inevitable, said Beasley. “If we get money, and we keep the supply chains open, we can avoid famine,” he said. “We can stop this if we act now.” "

Too bad guys Democrats dont want to reopen so no money or supply chains for you <3

    edit: also thoughts and prayers.

I never agree w/ you tsuke, but this isn't talked about enough. And I never agree w/ Trump, but he IS right about the cure being worse than the disease at a certain point.

Hate, hate, hate how politicized this has become, on both sides. On the Dem side, there are definitely those who view the shutdown in political terms - they see "opening" as a Fox/GOP stand, and oppose it as a knee-jerk.

We need to get practical here. That doesn't necessarily mean opening tomorrow, everywhere. But we can't just say "the shutdown is the only way to beat this thing," and carry it out to that logical conclusion. At a certain point, leaders have to make the decision that the economy is more important than saving a certain # of lives.

And let's also not pretend that's an easy decision, at all.

If you think about it, states and areas hardest hit by the Wuhan virus will get hardest hit by a famine and disruption of the food supply

I have been preparing for shit like this for years. I can hang out in the mountain retreat for a long time while NYC eats itself.

Of course it doesnt "look like an easy decision". Your decisions are all based on models with faulty data. You literally now have mutliple studies claiming the rate of hospitlization of this is very very low and the rate of death even lower. 450000 infected in LA county 7000 go to hospitals and 600 die for example.

If you actually base it on science then you could have a good case to reopen but Democrats would rather murder all these starving kids. Hey at least they got born right?

You guys should make it easier to agree with you.

Unless you don't want people to agree w/ you. Then carry on.
