Default Hardest Week of Our Lives Day #5

I’m late checking in because I was up part of the night watching the radar. A tornado touched down not far from where I live and I’m pretty sure I heard it. I live in a sheltered valley and it’s not uncommon for heavy wind to blow over top of us. The wind was absolutely howling like I’ve never heard but the trees were just moving like they do in a garden variety wind storm; nothing is blown off the deck etc.

But a car dealership got leveled in town. Far as I know no one was hurt.

At any rate, here we are at Day #5 of our worst week ever.

    Everyone check-in safe.

do they call those valleys "hollows" or is that a Tn. term?
I don't know how you were diverted / You were perverted too

Trump has increased to intensity and severity of storms with his war on the environment.

We had a high wind advisory yesterday...gusts to 35 mph but they did not materialize here in central Georgia.

    What city was hit?

It was confirmed that night before last, a tornado touched down about 12 miles from me. It was only an F-0 (I didn't know there was such a thing), but still. Woke up to a thunder boom, then the power went out, and I could hear what sounded kinda like a freight train approaching from the NE. Of course I looked out the window, lol. Then started checking radar on my phone. Turned out it was the leading edge of the storm approaching. It was a tree that took out the power line about a quarter mile from the house. Trees down all over the place. None on my property that I know of. Power went out about 12:45 am, crews had the line repaired by 5:00 am. God Bless those guys.

There were also 2 other tornadoes that touched down to the north of us, both F-1.

You're not in the panhandle, are you?

    I'm safe

“Those tweets were reflective and repeated the sentiments of millions of people," Zaid said. "I was referring to a completely lawful process of what President Trump would likely face as a result of stepping over the line, and that particularly whatever would happen would come about as a result of lawyers. The coup comment referred to those working inside the Administration who were already, just a week into office, standing up to him to enforce recognized rules of law.“

Still no COVID in the county where I am temporarily staying . Maybe they don't have anyone to report it? Anyway the county north of me has 17 cases. Dallas country where I normally live has 1,250. Glad everyone survived the storms.

    Saint Albans WV.

Newsers are calling it straight line wind damage but I saw cinder blocks laying around in the clip. Who knows. I saw some rotation in part of the leading edge of the storm on the radar app before it got here, but that was 20 miles ish to the north.

All I know is I rarely get out of bed at 1:30 am for a thunderstorm but I didn’t like the sound of that wind. And of course, it was probably 3am before I fell back asleep.

I’m in neither of them, actually lol.

I’m pretty much smack in the middle of WV.

    It’s holler lol.

I live in the holler and people live up the holler from me lol. Hollers are a good place to keep sheltered from wind but they can be death traps in a flash flood.
