It's really simple, finance & tech build up real wealth.
Other things can be bought from else where with that wealth.

    Singapore is proof.

    Please,
if the South seceded it would be a disaster.

You'd become like Brazil that speaks English.

B.) Because we're more social Conservative, not necessarily fiscally Republican.

I used to live in Upstate NY, very rural and paid $34/ $1000 valuation in property taxes. The schools sucked, one of the many reasons that we moved.

Here in a suburban, metropolitan county in NC I pay about $10/ $1000 valuation in property taxes. Our schools are excellent.

British ethnics, especially the dingy Scottish ethnics down South remind me of "Russians"

Not only like Russians are you violent, drunken, war mongering, crass, subservient, and ignorant.

You both tend to see resources as king.

About the only thing different, is the dingy Scots down South tend to support Individualism, and Russians moderate Collectivism.

You seem to think that you hold a monopoly on fiance and tech. You don't. All we have to do is shut off the spigot and you wouldn't be able to buy a diet coke.

Racism rears it's ugly head. A sure sign that I've destroyed your position and you have nowhere else to go...

I'm just appalled at British ethnics & react with disgust.

I don't know how anyone can't see with Singapore vs Russia the differences between finance & resources.

Go ahead try and make excuses for racism. Just like you pretend that counting beans creates wealth.

    BS.
New York was rated #22, and North Carolina #32 in public schools.

I don't care what the ratings say, especially when on of the major factors is "funding". I just compare the outcomes of my kid's education with that of their cousins in MA and PA.

We have a large, fully consolidate county-wide school system that minimizes overhead costs. Students with special needs, be it academically gifted or something far less fortunate, are given the opportunity to thrive with their actual peer groups. My son accepted his challenge and graduated HS with 39 college credits.

We have some of the best public universities in the US. They are also affordable to in-state students. We also have a lower tier of universities where in-state students pay as little as $500/ semester.

Both of my children have done exceedingly well compared to their cousins, especially considering that they are among the youngest of the 15. My daughter is a federal contractor with a high-level security clearance. My son quit his job with Boeing R&T after five years to work on military projects at one of MIT's labs.

So again, I think it's really hilarious that you thing that The South is full of uneducated rednecks, and that the NE could even survive without us.

The educational PISA scores put Massachusetts well above North Carolina.

Florida was late to the shutdown, so they now have a disease that has spread far and wide. Within a month or two, Florida will be in a lot of trouble.
