Default Poll: Majority of Americans now disapprove of Trump's coronavirus response

Support for President Donald Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic has diminished over the past two weeks, according to a new survey, with a majority of Americans now disapproving of his response to the public health crisis.

An ABC News/Ipsos poll released Friday reports that 52 percent of respondents disapprove of his management of the deadly outbreak, while only 47 percent approve.

The president's latest rating in the survey shows Trump's support backsliding from the levels he achieved in mid-March, when more than half of Americans, 55 percent, approved of his response and 43 percent disapproved.

Even so, and while he remains deeply polarizing, the poll finds Trump’s approval ratings are among the highest of his presidency. Forty-four percent of Americans support Trump’s oversight of the pandemic, in line with his overall 43% approval rating. That’s at the high end for the Republican president during his more than three years in office.

Trump got a modest bounce in approval rating a few weeks ago, but that turned out to be temporary, so now we are back to the starting point. It will be interesting to see what happens when reality sets in, and people start feeling the economical effects of covid-19 after this pandemic is over.

Everyone noted that the bounce he got was rather paltry compared to every other POTUS who got a favorability bump during a crisis. The fact that he screwed it up by opening his mouth, is no surprise

Understandable since he's been all over the map on this. His inconsistency works against him. I have no doubt Americans trust Vice President Pence and Dr. Fauci more than they do Trump.

Pence is on record for lying almost as much, and almost as often as Trump

Disagreed, but you are free to quote 3 or more of these lies you claim Pence has told.
