Hello and welcome WitoldPilecki,
Woah, back up a minute there.
"Hippies applauded LBJ"
Better recheck that history.
LBJ went way down in approval, the worse it got in Vietnam.
Boomers, like most groups of people, include lots of individuals with various views.
There is no typical boomer. Just like in all age groups, there are good people and bad.
Please be sure to observe my PIP. I wrote it, I mean it, and I enforce it. Some who thought I was messing around have later regretted their decision to blow it off. I will give you all the respect in the world if you respect me. Thank you.

Hello WitoldPilecki,
What is only/mostly? That's a BS argument. Are you taking a position or leaving yourself an 'out.'
ps The violence of that era was all over the world, not just in the USA. It dropped all over the world after leaded gasoline was phased out.
Antipathy toward boomers in general is misplaced. It is an over-simplification. It's looking only at the worst of what a generation did, while ignoring the good.
Every generation has their heroes and villains.
Don't fall for the generalization of stereotyping. That limits higher understanding.
It's no fun to think that when you were born there was almost no plastic and very little litter, to collect soda bottles as a Boy Scout to pay for camping gear, and then to grow up as the leaders of industry told us everything should be disposable and we should rape the environment to have nice lives. Then one day you look around and see a world full of trash, and wonder if converting raw materials into products on an industrial scale, only to spend a year or two in a home, and then be relegated to a landfill, is really such a good idea. Yes, it makes the economy zing along, but what are we doing to our planet? Why are we seeing species loss on such an unprecedented scale? How can we have advanced lifestyles without raping mother nature?
Is your generation gonna solve these issues?
If so, bring it on.
If not, get ready to face a lot of criticism from the young by the time you get old.
But hey. That's the job of each generation. The current young one is nothing special.
Want a challenge?
Solve the following top ten:
10. Hatred
9. Racism
8. War
7. Nuclear threat
6. Oppression
5. Extreme wealth inequality
4. Pollution
3. Resource depletion / sustainability
2. Overpopulation
1. Climate Change / Species loss
Hope ya do better than we did.

That's not what I said. I said that America is moving to the Left. You asked in what way, so there ya go.
Now it is true that each generation is generally more liberal than the last. So yes, it's certainly likely that slavery ended because young Liberals replaced the old Conservatives who died out, and they were more opposed to slavery.
The (((Globalists))) are pushing forced integration, but they're not pushing rights for women and LGBT people. Globalists were always against those things. I think Catholics, women, gays, and trannies becoming more accepted is just a case of each generation being more liberal than the last. At least on social issues.
Humphrey was in many ways LBJ part 2.
Younger voters like Baby boomers mostly voted Humphrey.
Humphrey was for continuing LBJs Vietnam policies.
Nixon ended up getting us out significantly.
LBJ & Humphrey were & still are seen more favorable than Nixon by Boomers.
Yes, I'm aware not all Boomers were hippies there were also normals and anti Hippie rednecks.
Replace redneck with anti-Hippie Guidos in the Northeast.
I'm quite good in history.
My Polish American father has his masters degree as a history teacher after all.
Did you know virtually unknown to the masses pretexts to the American Revolutionary War that predate the Boston Tea Party.
Include Prendergast's Rent War & The Pine Tree Riots.
Racism & Nuclear Arms are mixed.
Yes, racism can be very bad so can anti- Racism.
Racism like the Holocaust is awful.
Anti- Racism is causing for cultures to be replaced.
Nukes similar it can destroy the World. True.
But thus far has probably stopped some wars.
The issues of the environment are nowadays worse among foreigners. Except many Western nations.
Trump elected by Boomers is just making matters worse there.
You hated on Millennials first.
My facts are right.
The worst day of the Vietnam War killed over 240.
The last day of Covid-19 killed about 1,000 in a day.
Also the economy was really good during Vietnam.
The economy now is at about Great Depression levels.
There is no comparison.
