Default 10 days ago, Teflon Don was bragging that the US only had 4,000 cases.

Now we have 4,000 deaths, doubling in just three days.

Teflon Don is nowhere to be seen. Probably posting under a sock account.

The problem we face now is that our nation's response to this pandemic is tepid and anemic

And it is largely the fault of Trump, conservatives, and Republican governors. They spent three months downplaying, lying, and denying the the nature of the risk. They relentlessly tried to compare this to the common cold. And to this very moment, most Republican governors refuse to take this seriously and mandate social distancing measures.

What should have happened when experts told Trump about the risk months ago is we should have aggressivly prepared and implemented the successful measures they implemented in South Korea and China to flatten the curve

I lay 100% of the blame on the people who voted for Trump.

We always knew this is how Conservatism would respond to a crisis.

What should have happened was Trump should have been removed last month.

Adam Schiff warned us about this.

Other than the daily public relations show performed on national television by Trump, there is no coordinated national response. There is no national stay-at-home order, despite the fact that the United States is now the hardest-hit nation on the planet.

The lack of a coordinated national response has resulted in a complicated patchwork of responses on the state, city, town, and county levels all across the country—and many of those are inadequate....

Yup. Conservatism is going to make this thing drag on much longer than it had to.

We could have prevented all this if Conservatives didn't have to coddle and protect an incompetent monster.

So I lay 100% of the blame not on Trump, but on the people who voted for him, supported him, defended him, coddled him, and protected him.

Trump admits he would have ignored coronavirus even without impeachment

Republicans have been trying to blame impeachment for the federal government's slow response to the coronavirus, but Trump just contradicted them.

Donald Trump on Tuesday dismissed the spreading Republican excuse that impeachment led to a slow and botched response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I don't think I would have done any better had I not been impeached," Trump said at his daily coronavirus news conference from the White House. "And I think that's a great tribute to something — maybe it's a tribute to me — but I don't think I would've acted any differently, or I don't think I would've acted any faster."

A handful of GOP lawmakers have blamed the impeachment proceedings for the Trump administration's failure to take swift action as the coronavirus spread in the United States — an admission that the Trump administration was slow to respond in and of itself.

As news of a potential outbreak surfaced in China last year, the administration ignored guidelines from a National Security Council playbook compiled in 2016 by former President Barack Obama's administration, which laid out steps Trump could have taken to stop a pandemic in its tracks, including ensuring proper diagnostic capability, stockpiling personal protective equipment and other critical tools, and delivering a "unified message" from the beginning.
