RIVERS OF DEMOCRAT BLOOD MAY FLOW ONCE AGAIN IN THE STREETS OF MILWAUKEE
Does this sound familiar?
As 1968 began, it looked as if Lyndon Johnson would easily win the DEMOCRAT nomination.
Johnson was challenged by Senator Eugene McCarthy, who ran on a radical leftist platform.
With the backing of college students and activists, McCarthy, who was not expected to be a serious contender for the DEMOCRAT nomination, nearly defeated Johnson, finishing with a surprising 42% of the vote to Johnson's 49%.
On March 31, 1968, a week before the Wisconsin primary, where polls showed a strong standing for McCarthy, Johnson stunned the nation by withdrawing.
Hubert Humphrey entered the race too late to participate in the DEMOCRAT primaries.
Humphrey did not enter any of the 13 state primary elections, but won the DEMOCRAT nomination at the party convention in Chicago, even though 80 percent of the primary voters had been for other candidates.
At the 1968 DEMOCRAT convention in Chicago ,there were gatherings and protests by thousands of young demonstrators, many of whom favored McCarthy.
Police attacked and beat these protesters, most of them young college students.

"When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."
A lie doesn't become the truth, wrong doesn't become right, and evil doesn't become good just because it is accepted by a majority.
