SARS, Flu and Colds are all viruses, but they are different. That's why Flu vaccines don't work for Colds and that's why SARS isn't the same as the Flu no matter who says it is. It's why there's no vaccine for Colds and, at least so far, no vaccine for SARS.
COVID-19 is a form of coronavirus previously unknown to mankind. Some coronaviruses are common and mild. This one is not since it appears to be fatal to about 50% of those who are elderly or with compromised immune systems. Overall, about 1% of the population which is ten times more fatal than the flu's 0.1%. About 80% of people won't feel much, 20% will free like crap for a couple weeks and about 1% will be buried and life will go on. As for the total body count; time will tell. Let's see what we have on Easter, Cinco de Mayo and the Fourth of July.

229E (alpha coronavirus)
NL63 (alpha coronavirus)
OC43 (beta coronavirus)
HKU1 (beta coronavirus)
Other human coronaviruses
MERS-CoV (the beta coronavirus that causes Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS)
SARS-CoV (the beta coronavirus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS)
SARS-CoV-2 (the novel coronavirus that causes coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19)
