I don't think 'Death' is the Main Problem. Pointing at the 'Death Numbers' is a distraction. The Main Problem is how many people are sick with this AT THE SAME TIME.

Watching the rising daily body count reminds me of the Vietnam years. Does it really matter if not all the deaths reported on a particular day in Vietnam were not combat-related but due to a traffic or weapons accident? A helicopter crash on takeoff?

The people most vulnerable to COVID-19 are those who are elderly and/or already have health issues. If COVID-19 further weakens them and they end up dying of their previous ailment, that would be "COVID-related" because they wouldn't have died if they hadn't contracted COVID-19.

The logic eats itself. The biggest indicators of fatality here is some other underlying condition and advanced age, both.

The fatality rate has been 1.5%. 2,112 deaths over a three month period justifies destroying the economy? How?

If you have a per-existing condition and contract COVID which compounds the condition leading to your death, is it due to COVID?

I am amused that something that has caused 2,112 deaths over a three month timeline is called a catastrophe. The REAL catastrophe has been the response to this which has led to a meltdown in our economy.

If you have the choice of keeping your job, or risking the REALITY of 2,112 deaths out of a population of 308 MILLION, isn't it stupid to choose to lose your job over a .00006% chance of dying from this virus?

Correct, and for obvious reasons. Everyone where I live is on 2-5 acres. It's more difficult for me to accidentally contract COVID-19 from a neighbor than someone living on the 4th floor apartment.
