I take it you are in a city not a suburb or rural area? An apartment or condo in a concrete canyon?

After 9/11, a lot of "Yuppies" rethought their priorities and gave up the money chase for more family time and a less stressful environment in the suburbs or country. Within 10 years a new crop of "young and upwardly mobile" people came in and that changed, but it was an interesting change at the time.

Life is short. If someone isn't enjoying it by their mid-30s, they're doing it wrong. Just my two cents worth.

I’m in a condo building in the heart of the City. I’m an urban person. I have nothing against rural areas but I can’t handle the slower pace of life and quiet. (Again, not there is anything wrong with it. It’s just not for me.)

It's a life choice. I understand. I live in tornado country. We each have the freedom to choose how and where we live.

Just out of curiosity, please define "slower pace of life".

I used to live in one of those just outside of DC. Loved it. 17th floor, great view. Then moved to a townhouse. Have been in a single family HOUSE with some dirt and and lawn and golf course in the backyard for 30 years. Frankly, all were well suited for each phase of life.

Guess we'll be looking to downsize in the next couple of years. Back to a condo I assume.

Not where I am currently staying. I still choose to only go out for necessities.

Going to be more than "a few more weeks," I'm betting mid June/July at best

How do you selectively lift quarantines on geographical areas? To do such you woild also have to retrict travel, those in unrestricted areas couldn't go near contaminate areas and vica versa. And given that case numbers are largely determined by testing, how do you risk putting those areas currently with low testing in jeopardy largely because they've had few tests

And Americans got to stop being a nation of wusses, two weeks into a deviance from their normal calanders and they are beginning to cry, it is a crisis, as Trump says a war, sacrifices are going to be required, no one is being drafted to go to war

Are suggesting the federal government put a blanket shelter-in-place order country wide?

Well, hang in there and keep being safe.

It's not so bad on us since we're retired and live in the woods by ourselves. But for ppl still working, used to going out every day -- it has to be really rough.

Thanks. All things considered we're pretty lucky compared to many so while it sucks I can't really complain.

As my daughter moves into school we're looking at possibly moving out of the City to the 'burbs. Like you said, seasons of life.
