Default "We've lost it all. The shock felt by MILLIONS of Americans."

There are MILLIONS upon MILLIONS who went under the first week. Unemployment offices are beyond capacity. Trump's checks in 4 weeks will be too little too late. Landlords will start evictions in many states in 30-60 days. Food has to be be bought by the DAY. And ALL will have to worry about catching the virus.

We've lost it all, The shock felt by millions of Americans.

WASHINGTON — So much has changed so quickly for Joseph Palma that he barely recognizes his life.

On Tuesday last week, he was going to work, helping passengers in the customs area of the Miami airport. The next day, he was laid off without severance or benefits. Five days later, he moved back in with his 59-year-old mother, loading his bed and his clothes into the back of his friend’s pickup truck.

Now he is staring at his bank account — totaling about $3,100 — and waiting on hold for hours at a time with the unemployment office, while cursing at its crashing website.
“I’m feeling scared,” said Mr. Palma, who is 41 and nervous about the $15,000 in medical debt he has from two recent hospital stays. “I don’t know what’s the ending. But I know I’m not in good shape.”

For the millions of Americans who found themselves without a job in recent weeks, the sharp and painful change brought a profound sense of disorientation. They were going about their lives, bartending, cleaning, managing events, waiting tables, loading luggage and teaching yoga. And then suddenly they were in free fall, grabbing at any financial help they could find, which in many states this week remained locked away behind crashing websites and overloaded phone lines.

“Everything has changed in a matter of minutes — seconds,” said Tamara Holtey, 29, an accountant for an industrial services company in the Houston area, who was on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, as the coronavirus outbreak intensified in the United States and was laid off on her second day back at work.

Now she spends her days applying for jobs online from her home in Alvin, Texas, while she and her wife weigh whether to delay paying their mortgage for a month or two — only to have to pay more in interest...

This doesn't care what party you align with. It can take you down the financial toilet or kill you.
    Someone you know will die.

    Thanks Trump

If the people approve of the way Trump is handling the crisis, doesn't necessarily mean that they're planning on voting for Trump.

Will they (swing voters) stick with a lying untrustworthy criminal impeached nutbag and also pick up that weird electoral college 7-10 split again?

I sure hope not. We are more motivated now than when he went up against Hillary, and we had not yet proven he cheated in Ukraine.

“Some six in 10 Americans approve of the job Donald Trump is doing to combat the coronavirus crisis, pushing the president’s approval rating – 49% - to the highest of his presidency, according to a poll released Tuesday by Gallup.

Trump’s gains come as his standing has improved among Democrats and independents amid the viral outbreak, which has killed more than 660 people even as the nation has adopted strict rules limiting public gatherings. Trump’s job approval numbers are up 6 points among Democrats and 8 points among independents, according to the survey.

And voters are largely giving Trump positive marks for his handling of the pandemic, with 94% of Republicans, 60% of independents, and 27% of Democrats approving of his efforts. That’s higher than his general approval rating among each group.”

maybe this is why Trump wants people to get back to work as fast as possible instead of shutting everything down for 2-3 months.

Say what you want but things are atrociously bad, and looking gloomier by the hour with no end in sight.

What, praytell, can the citizens do to shake things up come this November?

I think that, faced with a crisis, the first reaction of any people is to rally round whatever leadership they've got. My own guess is that Trump is so incompetent that he won't know how to use that support and will waste it away in silliness, but it does show just how powerful government propaganda can be at such times. This is a huge opportunity for the likes of Netenyahu.

I thought staying home and not going to work was a good thing. Now you're against it?

The after shocks of this crisis have yet to be felt, and when that does happens it will be very interesting to see what happen.
