Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

You got any causality to go w/ that?

Couldn't be just high population density, right?

Running low on substitute adjectives for ‘creep’ and ‘crawl’ so I went with the sarcastic angle in the OP title.

Related news: at least one doctor thinks the CHINA virus has already been in WV since there have been a cluster of people with flu like symptoms that tested negative for seasonal flu virus over the past 6-8 weeks. Could easily be true and if it is, the virulence of the virus is unremarkable with respect to the vast majority of people.

Also, if true, the actual number of Corona cases is a lot higher than the number of confirmed cases, nationally. This is probably what prompted the expert in OH to speculate that OH could have 100k cases of the virus.

But if all of this is true, look at the number in the OP title—and think.

    And there is this...

Bad state data hides coronavirus threat as Trump pushes reopening
Test counts inflated, death tolls deflated, metrics shifted.

In at least a dozen states, health departments have inflated testing numbers or deflated death tallies by changing criteria for who counts as a coronavirus victim and what counts as a coronavirus test, according to reporting from POLITICO, other news outlets and the states' own admissions. Some states have shifted the metrics for a “safe” reopening; Arizona sought to clamp down on bad news at one point by simply shuttering its pandemic modeling. About a third of the states aren’t even reporting hospital admission data — a big red flag for the resurgence of the virus.

A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

As of the 18th week of the year according to CDC data: (This is with data not yet complete.)

We have had 118,557 more deaths at this point in the year than the average of the previous 6 years.
We have had 51,964 more deaths than 2018 which was a bad flu year where we had 61,000 deaths from flu for Oct-April.
We have had 70,039 more deaths than the average of the last 3 years.

Even if we are having a bad flu season, which we didn't, we are seeing death rates that are 10% higher than they should be.

The numbers say... "This isn't the same thing as the flu".

Which is why you need to be careful about making claims that will prove to be not true in 6 months.

Florida is seeing the fastest growth in cases and deaths of any state while all the states you mentioned have seen dramatic decreases.
Ohio is seeing their worst 3 day death total in over a month.
Texas added the most cases in 2 days between yesterday and today.

Differences in handling are happening. Most of the states you mentioned had large outbreaks before stay at home measures were put in place because we didn't know it was here yet. Red states may be seeing large outbreaks after stay at home orders are lifted. Only time will tell.

Did you know that only 43 people have died in all of San Francisco, out of a population of almost a million. They really worked at contact tracing, and social distancing, and got those rates down to East Asia level. It is really amazing.

How much do you want to bet that when this is all over, there is not a single red state with a rate as low as San Francisco? More densely populated San Francisco should have higher rates, especially given its strong connection to China.

Over 110,000 Americans have died in the 78 days since the thread author was chuckling and yucking it up about only 61 deaths.
