A stress test. Believe me when I say to you, you do not want to fail this test. Come together as a people regardless of any differences real or perceived. Persevere until the end and we will All be o.k. This thing is done by late May at worst. And above all do not buy into the fear and feed it. The more you feed it the more it wants to take. STARVE that nasty ill intentioned bitch!

This place has been good for me and I will tell you why. There are some very hate filled individuals that inhabit this board, on BOTH sides. Made me sick to read it at first because it was like a mirror into what I too was becoming. NO MORE! They want us divided. Up to us to see that they dont get theyre wish. They want us divided and fighting each other so we never have the time to cast our eyes on the true enemy. NO MORE! Together we are strong, divided we are only hate filled weaklings.

Nice thread. I like posting here & it can be a good community, but WAY too much vitriol here overall. We disagree vehemently on issues and politics in general, but no one has bad intent. Everyone wants the best for America - we just have different outlooks on how to get there.
Hope you're right on the virus. My hope is that we're good by May at the latest, as well. But there is a ton of uncertainty right now - we'll just have to ride this out & see what happens.

Actually there is a lot of things we are certain about.
In the US 99% of cases have been mild
Worldwide 80% of cases have been mild
In the US we have had only 41 deaths so far. 23 of those came from one single nursing home in Washington state. I actually question whether they died OF it or WITH it. But, nevertheless this is still not a major crisis that warrants this overreaction
Could it be major? Maybe. But I think it is unlikely.
I know. I know. WE AREN’T TESING EVRYONE. WE AREN’T TESTING EVERYONE!!!!!
we don’t need to.
First of all the test only works if you are actually sick. Second of all S Korea is supposedly testing 20,000 people a day and all they have positive is 7900 people. And only 1% of the people testing positive in S Korea are critical
BUT WHAT ABOUT ITALY?!?!? BUT WHAT ABOUT ITALY?!?!?!
21% of their population is over the age of 65 and their median age is 45
The United States by contrast?
13% of our population is 65 or older our median age is 38
So they are much older and this virus is much worse in the elderly. Oh and they have done ZERO to restrict immigration into that country.
So the question is will we be more like Italy? Or more like S Korea. I think the latter.

There are a few, a very few, posters on this forum who cheered and are still cheering the economic loss to millions (100 million) of Americans who invest in the stock market. They and their families have been harmed and these few are cheering.
If’s the most un-American expression of hatred for our fellow Americans (both liberals and conservatives invest in the stock market) that I have ever seen.
Stunning.

It's something the left is hyping in an effort to drag down the economy in order to keep Trump from getting elected. They got their asses whipped in 2016 and can't accept they lost. They got their asses kicked again with a failed attempt in the Russia investigation. They came back for a third whipping with impeachment. It's all they have left.
They couldn't beat Trump in an election. They couldn't railroad him with a Russia investigation. They couldn't prove quid pro quo with impeachment. Rather than accept they're not up beating him in a fair contest, they'd rather see the country suffer in order to try and win.
For all the Bernie supporters, if you want to see what a socialist government would look like, go to the stores now and see the empty shelves.
