And it’s misleading. The death toll from Corona isn’t ‘continuing to climb’—it’s the same as yesterday lol. And the deaths are all clustered in the same nursing home in Washington state. Sadly, it’s hardly unusual for the common flu to basically clean out a wing in a nursing home.
    This hasn't aged well.

Fauci is the one who predicted 250,000 dead.

So far, 6500 have died, which is more than 9/11 and the Afghan War combined.

I have not made any projections.

You predicated 6 deaths which was wrong.

Trump predicted we would soon be down to zero, which was wrong.

Somebody said something about 1.7 million deaths, which I dismissed as a worst case scenario unlikely to occur

The final death tally will completely depend on what preventative measures we take.

If we follow the advice of people like Governors Cuomo and Newsome, and medical professionals like CDC and WHO, I have reasonable confidence the death toll in this county can be limited.

If we believe what Trump and Fox News were saying three weeks ago, and base our actions on those opinions, the death toll will undoubtedly go ballistic.

"Our country is in the midst of a great national trial, unlike any we have ever faced before. [...] We’re at war with a deadly virus. Success in this fight will require the full absolute measure of our collective strength, love, and devotion. It’s very important. Each of us has the power through our own choices and actions to save American lives and rescue the most vulnerable among us" President Trump said [video] [transcript]

"Following the guidelines for the next 30 days is a matter of life and death"

“This is going to be one of the roughest 2 or 3 weeks we’ve ever had in our country [...] We’re going to lose thousands of people.”

Projections: 100,000 - 240,000 total deaths in the US from COVID-19 [video segment] (down from 1.5 - 2.2 million deaths without mitigation: social distancing, staying home, washing hands). But if guidelines are followed perfectly by everyone, then the numbers can be lower, or even significantly lower

Due to delayed and incomplete reporting from New York State, we had to make adjustments to yesterday's totals in order to maintain the correct attribution of historical figures. US figures for Sunday, March 29 could still be incomplete.

19913 new cases and 363 new deaths in the United States

Among the deaths: a 42-year-old woman in Arkansas with no pre-existing health condition (and who had never been hospitalized before, according to her sister) who felt "a little sick" on March 15 and thought it to be a cold or a sinus infection. After developing shortness of breath and cough that wouldn't go away, she was admitted to the hospital on March 24 and tested positive to Covid-19. She was put on a ventilator in ICU and, after 4 days (on Saturday, March 28), she died. [source]
