Pumping animals full of growth hormones is done for one reason only, to increase profits. As for the use of chlorine, there is an issue with lower quality chickens being cleaned up after slaughter with chlorine treatment to kill bacteria. I believe that BoJo will reject hormone treated beef outright and settle for a compromise with citric acid washing instead. Can't see many in the UK buying US chicken anyway, we have the highest animal welfare standards in the world and can't see that changing.There is nothing wrong with it. It is delicious.

U.S. chickens do have to be transported further distances which does make them more susceptible to disease during that period.
