Just the ones specifically mentioned in the Constitution. That list is very, very, very short.

When Massachusetts had Romneycare, while I don't advocate government run healthcare, at least it met how the Constitution said thing should be done according to the 10th amendment.

That doesn't mean those unwilling to do for themselves are to be taken care of from cradle to grave by the worthwhile in society.

Bernie's not the only one saying the same thing. If everyone that does donating all of their money to charity still wouldn't pay, tough shit. Let those refusing to do for themselves go without. They aren't owed something the rest of us are forced to pay for because they refuse to provide it themselves.
You could use the same logic for any public service. We shouldn't have police because they require everyone pay taxes for them. Let people who can't defend themselves go without.

So we should make policy based on what a piece of paper says? Fantastic.

Police are funded by state and local funds. According to the Constitution that is perfectly OK if that State/local entity chooses to do so. What you're supporting is federal taxation.

I agree. People that are unwilling to provide healthcare coverage to themselves should go without before federal tax money should be used for it.

Yes, when what you refer to as just a piece of paper is the Constitution. That's what the founders had in mind.

Too global? I want our government to pay for Americans to have healthcare. Other countries have their own governments.
And is it taking it too far to say that healthcare is a human right?

The founders also owned slaves. Just because the founders had some good ideas, does not mean we have to blindly accept everything they believed in.

Well that's stupid. We should have policy and laws based on logic, not based on what a piece of paper says.
