Oh stop braying, you clown. If you truly don't have time for my posts, then why take the time and effort to respond? Just don't....less effort for you, less BS to deal with for me and the other readers.
Case in point: this Forbes article you link is an OPINION PIECE where the majority of his documentation are ESTIMATES from other nuke wonks: Now read this (including the comment from 2 years ago) and note the following: The ANR report does not mention the impact, if any, of the closing of Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant in Vernon in December 2014. https://vermontbiz.com/news/2018/jul...s-carbon-goals
Read carefully, there is SPECULATION as to the actual contribution, but NO conclusive study....the speculation coming from nuke wonks and coal affiliated folk. As for Shellenberger….a nuke head and fracker…..which I find hysterical being that to date nuke heads can't come up with nothing better to do with all that nuclear waste but bury it deep and hope to hell the casings last out until someone figures an ECONOMIC way to decontaminate it.
As usual, blowhards like you can't logically or factually refute the core content of information that doesn't fit your narrative, so you just debate around the peripherals. That dog of yours won't fly, son.

As usual you're just full of shit and have very little understanding of the issues. Seemingly nobody has told you that 4th gen. nuclear will be able to use nuclear waste, a bullshit term in itself as it is really not waste as all but depleted uranium. Maybe if you read this you might actually learn something but you're probably too boneheaded to understand. Even the Guardian is woke, or at least they were back in 2012, so maybe there's hope for you yet?

For the love of God, will you get your head out of your posterior and THINK before you type? This article of yours is an 8 YEAR OLD THEORY. yeah, yeah..the thorium generators, etc., etc. Theoretical designs from the same mindsets who STILL don't have a clue as to how to get rid of decades of waste pile up around the world. Actually, here in the US there was a theory using molten iron and such for decontamination of present waste...but like some of your proposals here....investors didn't see a quick profit in it and killed it.
What's comical is how you try to come off all superior knowledge by trying to split a hair....yeah genius, we know it's depleted uranium rods....it's a WASTE product from a nuke plant reactions that's STILL toxic to humans and the environment. That's a given, so you can stop patting yourself on the back for a moot point.
And as usual, you avoid the parts of my link that take the air out of your nuke wonk screed. Typical.
You parrot the party line with blinders on.....the mindset of a BS royalist, I guess. And let me know when you've logically and factually disproved my links regarding fracking.

More theory and speculation, you simpleton. If Russia indeed has a nuke power plant that efficiently and safely eliminates it's waste material, then why isn't everyone in the world building these to replace the old plants? Oh wait, how exactly does that process work? Are the Russians telling, or is it a state secret? One would think Russia would love to corner the global patent on this.
So what's the hold up? Financial speculation, because "liberal" and "anti-nuke" protest sure as hell hasn't done much to get the current plants in America better regulated...hell, Obama gave the okay for new research and development. So in effect, the capitalist system of the world is looking hard at this and saying....is it worth the money? They were idiots regarding the current plants, and are idiots now.
Think before you type, son....makes you look less like a barking seal. And let me know when you've logically and factually disproved my links regarding fracking.

There is no "international patent" that will protect an invention all over the world. A separate patent must be filed in each country where the patent owner seeks protection.
However nations do respect the Patent cooperation Treaty of 1970 -in terms of filing dates.
But applications still need to be filed

There are several companies that are on the verge of making 4th gen. a reality. One such is Thorcon, in a remarkable about face the NYT which was implacably opposed to nuclear has now seen the light.
In the face of the utter failure of large investments in renewables to deliver CO2 reductions, greens are increasingly embracing nuclear power as the solution to climate change.
Nuclear Power Can Save the World
Expanding the technology is the fastest way to slash greenhouse gas emissions and decarbonize the economy.

…
Where will this gargantuan amount of carbon-free energy come from? The popular answer is renewables alone, but this is a fantasy. Wind and solar power are becoming cheaper, but they are not available around the clock, rain or shine, and batteries that could power entire cities for days or weeks show no sign of materializing any time soon. Today, renewables work only with fossil-fuel backup.
Germany, which went all-in for renewables, has seen little reduction in carbon emissions, and, according to our calculations, at Germany’s rate of adding clean energy relative to gross domestic product, it would take the world more than a century to decarbonize, even if the country wasn’t also retiring nuclear plants early.
…
But we actually have proven models for rapid decarbonization with economic and energy growth: France and Sweden. They decarbonized their grids decades ago and now emit less than a tenth of the world average of carbon dioxide per kilowatt-hour. They remain among the world’s most pleasant places to live and enjoy much cheaper electricity than Germany to boot.

NuScale is another company based in Portland OR that is showing the way to the future!
https://newsroom.nuscalepower.com/pr...g/default.aspxPORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- NuScale Power announced today that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ukraine’s State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (SSTC NRS). NuScale hosted an MOU signing ceremony attended by Mr. Ihor Shevchenko, Director SSTC NRS, Hryhorii Plachkov, Chairman of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate (SNRIU), and members of the Ukrainian Delegation.
The MOU states that the SSTC NRS and NuScale will collaborate on the regulatory and design gaps between the U.S. and Ukraine processes for the licensing, construction, and operation of a NuScale small modular reactor (SMR) power plant in Ukraine.
“NuScale is pleased to announce this relationship with the SSTC NRS to bring our advanced SMR technology to Ukraine,” said John Hopkins, NuScale Power Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “The SSTC NRS is an experienced and well-respected scientific and technical support organization that will provide great insight into the best ways that NuScale’s technology can be incorporated into Ukraine’s energy future.”
The SSTC NRS serves as a key advisor to the SNRIU in the review and approval of new nuclear technologies. The SSTC NRS also provides technical advice and independent assessment for the SNRIU to verify compliance with the rules, regulations, and standards of nuclear safety, and conduct data analysis and reporting on the safety of nuclear energy.
“This MOU will advance knowledge about how SMR technology can serve the energy needs of Ukraine,” said Ihor Shevchenko, Director at SSTC NRS. “The results of the evaluation will be integral to the licensing process for SMRs and the future deployment of NuScale’s technology in Ukraine.”
As NuScale moves forward with the stages of production and operations for its first U.S.-based SMR plant that is expected to begin generating power in the mid-2020s, the company has also signed MOUs to explore the deployment of its technology in Canada, Jordan, the Czech Republic, and Romania. NuScale continues to discuss similar agreements with potential customers worldwide, and the MOU with Ukraine is yet another indication of the growing recognition that NuScale is a leader and innovator in SMR technology—changing the power that changes the world.

Ryan Maue is the man!
Ahh, the lame fall back of a company parrot who can't logically or factually (or honestly) disprove or refute what is put to him.
See folks, Havana Moon couldn't debunk the facts of my previous links, so he avoided them like the plague. So he blows self aggrandizing smoke and fades out. Works for me.
