If population is the reason that people are elected to office.....why does the senate have only 2 representatives from each state regardless of population? What? you want to do away with the US Senate because the larger states do not get more Senators....the upper chamber where LAWS are actually signed into existence?

Interstate regulation of trade and commerce to insure fair trade among the free states 3. Help with interstate infrastructure to provide and regulate interstate TRANSPORTATION. Those 3 predicates makeup the General Welfare Clause. Taxes....i.e., tariffs are necessary for the federal government to provide maintenance for these services the states cannot provide for themselves.
